The guy at my local Discount Tire thought a 185 wouldn't fit on a 15x7. It barely fit on the 15x6.5 I got. The stock tire might fit on a 15x7, but I wouldn't count on it. Check first.

I highly recommend 15 inch wheels, especially a light pair like a Rota. The difference in acceleration when moving to a lighter wheel is startling.

 

As I stated earlier... 185/60/15 fits best on a 5 inch to 6.5 inch rim best. Pysically, sure you can stretch the beads apart farther but IMO is is not safe. If you want wider rims in 15 in., get the ones you want and just buy tires to match the width of the wheels. Use the stockers for winter duty or sell them to offset the cost!

 

When I lost one of the tires on my stock rims I did some hunting and found someone with Scion 15" rims with 1 weeks use on the tires. I picked up the whole set pretty cheap, and now have 3 good tires sitting at home in case another one gets damaged or I wear out the fronts. I like the way the 15s look, I never liked the extreme low profile tire on huge rims look.

There's always a few people around who buy their Scion with rims from the dealership then decide they want to go bigger or get something different. They wind up having to dump them cheap.

 

15x7 +20 rear, +38 front 2" drop.
