2005 xB Release Series 2.0 Solar Yellow- Limited Edition of 2,500 Units
2005 Scion xB Release Series 2.0: Solar Yellow
The most retina challenging of the RS models is the bright Solar Yellow xB Release Series 2.0. Exterior features include color-keyed side mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators, color-keyed rear spoiler, a tunable sport muffler, and a metal sport mesh grille.
Inside the urban utility vehicle, stainless steel xB RS 2.0 appliqués line the door sills and black fabric with yellow accents are designed to match the brilliant yellow exterior paint. Just 2,500 units of the Scion xB RS 2.0 were made.

xB Serries 2.0 - how much is it worth?
I have one in good condition Except, transmission is bad. 135K miles. Was running great until this.
I may fix it myself but would consider selling it if I were to get a decent offer..
Any thoughts?

Release Series 2.0 Insurance Issue
I have a Release Series 2.0 with 122,000 miles on it. The car is in cherry condition (cherry mechanically, cherry original exterior, and cherry original interior). I stopped insuring the car for collision and comprehensive because I think it's likely my insurer will consider a 19-year-old xB as worth very little if it's in an accident or stolen. In other words, my insurer will give little or no weight to the fact that it's a cherry Release Series 2.0, not just a basic xB. Am I wrong about this? If my car is worth enough to warrant collision and comprehensive insurance, is there a way to get my insurer to recognize its actual worth?

“Actual worth” is in eye of beholder. What is realistic figure you can sell it for to an actual buyer?
Besides, insurers pay “replacement value”. What it costs to buy another in used market with similar mileage & condition. Meaning it has similar numbers of dents.
I stopped comprehensive long time ago. For extra cost of coverage, I can go out and buy another xB outright every 3-4 yrs.

You can look for an insurer that will write a policy based upon either 'stated value' or 'agreed upon value'...but that's typically only going to apply to classic and collector cars or heavily modified 'show cars' and it's going to cost. Did you think to ask your insurer what your payout would be if you totaled your car...might surprise you what that number is.

You've identified the problem: "What it costs to buy another in used market with similar mileage and condition" seems impossible to determine. To my knowledge, there are no Release Series 2.0 xB's for sale anywhere in the U.S. So my insurer would likely go by what a 2005 basic xB woulld cost, which isn't much. Does anyone have any idea what a cherry Release Series 2.0 should sell for?

I'm not aware that the cost of collision and comprehensive insurance is less for a 73-year-old than it is for someone younger. But, good idea to ask my insurer at what point my Release Series 2.0 would be considered totaled.
