Default 2006 and 2006.5

Just wondering if anyone had details about the production run for the 2006 xB. My wife's BOP was manufactured 9/05 and my PW was made in 11/06. They are both titled as 06's. The only differences I see are hers doesn't have the radio controls on the steering wheel, the cruise control is different (I assume that was a dealer thing)and the airbag sensor light is in higher on the center stack.
She doesn't really care about the radio controls, but I'm spoiled. I assume hers was a very early 06 as the Scion brochure states the controls are new for 06. I ordered one of the last 06's to be shipped into Oregon once I decided I didn't want an xB2.
Is 2006.5 correct terminology for late 06's? Does it really matter? Probably not, huh?

Hers is a very early 06' and yours was one of the last 06's. They ended production sometime in Dec. 06.
I don't think there is such a thing as 06.5 unless it says it on your title. They just kept building them that way and never had 07's. Kinda weird if you ask me.

I bought my 6.5 just before they revealed the 08. At the time, I thought it was kinda risky, but I got lucky in the end.

there are a bunch of small differences in the 2. The air bag sensors are in different locations, the stuff you mentioned, and to me the late 06 front seats seem higher, but that might be because I have leather in mine?

I don't think it says 2006.5 anywhere on any documents but it was just a term coined so people could tell the differences between the two. I have a 06.5 but where ever I go to get it appraised it is still a 2006.

I own a 2006 and my wife owns a 2006.5.

Her car has the steering wheel controls. (I wish mine did)

Also the rear wiper blade washing fluid dispenser shoots out of two holes instead of one on my 2006. The two hole option works much better. It squirts left and right instead of the middle.

I still think that Scion owes the early 06' owners some kind of upgrade for screwing them out of that upgrade. Especially considering that the xB price did not go up.

That was also when they replaced Camo and BCP with Shadow Mica and Salsa Red.

People actually use those things? What is that? My wiper has been gone since the second day of ownership. They scratch the glass so it was history.

Isn't the interior seat fabric a bit different too? I had a '06 BSP and now have a '06.5 RS 4.0 and I remember reading the press release and there was a mention of "upgraded" fabric. It seems different to me.

Found a mention of the updates:

"Toyota has announced the 2006.5 Scion xB will receive a minor price increase over the 2006 model. Both the manual and auto versions will cost an additional $150 to purchase ($14,030 with a manual and $14,830 with an automatic), but that extra buck and a half will get you an updated interior and new colors. Don't get too excited, though. The new interior consists of new fabric for the seats and audio controls integrated into the steering wheel. The new colors for model year 2006.5 are Salsa Red Pearl and Shadow Mica. Camoflouge Green and Black Cherry Pearl (shown) are history. Production began early last week and the new xB will be arriving on the West Coast by New Year's."

I have all the brochures and the changes they list for 06.5 are, STEERING WHEEL AUDIO CONTROL BUTTONS/ MINI JACK MP3 ADDED TO CENTER CONSOLE/ NEW PIONEER HEAD UNIT/ SPEEDOMETER BACKGROUND CHANGED FROM WHITE TO SILVER. New colors SHADOW MICA AND SALSA RED PEARL. Three new wheel cover designs. And its not listed but the seat fabric also. I also bought mine because production was ending, my tcm was made 9/2006 and I bought it off the lot 10/22/2006.

The fabric is different. My wifes(2006.5) Xa and my first xB were even different. The difference is not huge.
My early 06 also had the MP3 mini jack connection in the console so that must have been an earlier change.

I was installing coilovers on my 06.5 and there are some changes in the airbag sensor locations as well.
