that's actually 3rd gen bB and yes it will most likely be the xB's replacement but it will no longer be named xB.

Yep, that's the bB (good pics too, thanks!), but it will NOT be the new "xB". Repeat, that car is NOT coming to this country. I've asked about it specifically and have it on very good authority that this new bB isn't for us.

why does everyone from the dealership's take the word of toyota employees as the word of god? no offense to the guy who posted on this thread...cause i don't believe it will be the next xB either. but, a lot of things coporate tells us are different than what actually happens. the tC supercharger is the perfect example. it's definetly coming out, it's not coming out yet, it's for sure coming out this time, it's not coming out yet. bleh. although i think most sl'ers take dealer info as bs anyways. to many dealers on here state things like the one up above, and it doesn't happen. not saying you're wrong though.

that looks more like an xa, and the Bb looks like a pt cruiser on steroids.

Just to repeat, plain and simple, the xB does not have nearly enough market penetration in the US to pull a stunt like this and survive. People still stop me and ask me what I drive. Now, when I say market saturation, think PT cruiser - now there's a model at the end of it's lifespan, ready for a facelift, but they missed the cue and are going to get stepped on. Imagine where google would have ended up if they would have kept 'reinventing' themselves before they became a verb.

Also, one of the biggest benefits IMO, is the fact that a huge aftermarket industry has sprung up around the xB, and all model years' parts are nearly interchangeable. Similar in ways to the old veedub bug - easy to work on, easy to mod, and huge selection of aftermarket parts. That's a huge draw to the younger segment.

And it's true, music is a huge draw as well, so I like the idea of an mp3 player on wheels. But, still, that's the interior. I think the interior of this bB is AWESOME.

But the exterior sadly misses the mark. I wish I had some photo-morphing software available, becasue this bB looks exactly like what would happen if you gave the xA the interior space of the xB. They were wrong about the xA 'bringing home the bacon' in this market, but it looks like they REALLY want to push that style...give it up, and let us keep our corners.

IMHO... Yuck!

Looks like a mix between an element and a pt cruzer. How sad to get rid of something that works!!!!

3rd gen bB, 2nd gen xb. But, we may or may not get that exact body style. Toyota released the t2b but some say we won't be getting that exact body style either being that a lot of body line features are going in the 3rd gen bB from the t2b. I don't think anyone will really know till mid 2006 or so when they start releasing the 2007.

Personally, every picture i've seen i dislike. I perfer the 1st gen so far, but who knows. This will probably be the only scion/toyota i will own anyway. I do like a few concept body kits that i've seen for the 3rd bB.

I think it might look pretty cool hooked up, but I dunno. I love the interior, though.

Fact of the matter is, there are very very few people who know what the next xB (or at least the xB's replacement) will look like. We know this is the new bB, but don't know for sure (key word) whether we'll get it or not. I just can't imagine Scion could abandon the mini-car market in the US after the xB's success. (This is in reference to the rumor that we'll be getting a larger xB replacement).

The "larger" replacement is only supposed to be 2 1/2 inches longer, 1 1/2 inches wider and a 1/2 inch to an inch taller. Its really not that much of a difference, and still makes that shorter than most vehicles. Thats if the rumors are true though.
