Actual RS 1.0 production numbers revealed!!!!!!
OK, I admit it I have been thinking about selling my box, and before I do something stupid I want to know just HOW MANY 2004 RS 1.0 were made so I did some research...basically I called and pestered Scion/Toyota Headquarters... and got confirmation on Hot Lava Numbers...
504 Hot Lava 5spd produced... the rest
1596 Hot Lava Automatics produced... totaling 2100.
I have a 5spd Hot Lava... as you can expect I am very happy.
I saw a thread with 04 production numbers and was gonna post this, but changed my mind because I bet at least 504 people will be VERY intrested in this.

you know... it says right there on your dash plaque in front of the passenger seat... "#XXX of 2100" ....
of course the plaque doesn't say how many are 5spds... but you set out to find out the total production run originally, right? (the answer is right there every time you drive the car)

Actually, for you newbs who joined after the RS1 was released, there was/is some contraversy on this.
There was several plaques that mysteriouosly dissapeared. There were also several that were produced with 2100 A ... 2100 B .... know one really knows how far up they went with the letters. The VIN doesnt indicate a RS1 either, so basically Scion took what they say was 2100 and turned them from bare metal to RS1s. Whos to say they did stop at exactly 2100? Its just one of those things we may never know.
What i do know is that one of the manuals is sitting at Toyota/Scion Corp here in NJ. So if you have one its really 1 of 503 made.

As someone also mentioned about the numbering controversey... when I first sat in mine I notice something strangly odd about my RS1....
As I posted year ago when I first got it... The morons that mounted the serial number MOUNTED IT UPSIDE DOWN on my car... I was going to complain but then I thought... what the hell... its most likely unique.
Toyota job #1... err job # 7 (or so).
I wish someone else you do the leg work to find the other production numbers on the RS models.
As far as I know I took delivery of the first Manny RS1 in Texas (March 15, 2004, about 1PM)... so who was I to complain about a upside down badge?

^^^ this too has created much contraversy .... some say its at Scion Corp Cali and some say that its at the Toyota Museum in Japan. I do believe that #0001 was at Longo Scion for some time. Where it went from there God only knows.
I have seen one here in the NJ/NY area that was in the 200s. I remember only cause it was one that beat me and im at #396.
BTW .... RadioDude ... was it you that i was talking to years ago while we were both waiting for these to come off the boat? I remember chatting with a guy there in Texas and he actually turned me onto victoriatire where i bought my first set of wheels.

I wonder if Toyota numbered the all the RS's in a certain way? From what I understand they most likely didnt number the RS1 xB's sequentally.... like I said earlier I got mine in March of 2004 and I am #2012... a buddy of mine got an auto RS1 about a month and a half later and his was around 750 or so.
Maybe there actually was a method to the madness.... oh well I am still trying to sell mine... its listed on the "for sale" forums.
