Default AEM CAI, whistling noise at 60MPH and above

Is anyone else experiencing this? My car only has 1,500 miles. But right after the installation of the CAI, there is a loud whistling noise at 60MPH and above. Can't figure out where it is coming from, but I believe it is from the CAI. Any ideas?

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me.

Is it based on throttle position or does it happen all the time?

Isn't it true that intakes are inherently noisey/whinny?

Default Whistling

The noise is not the normal noise that a CAI will make. There is a loud whistling noise coming from the lower front left hand side of the car. Throttle position doesn't make a difference, I can shift into neutral and the noise will still be present. When I hit 60MPH the whistling starts and it is very loud. Sounds like a person blowing across the top of a beer bottle.

Sounds like one of the pipe isn't inserted enough into either the air-bypass valve or the elbow join. I would suggest loosening the bracket and re-inserting both ends of the pipes are fitted in as far as possible into the Air- bypass valve and the brackets are on tight enough, Do the same with the elbow joint.

i was getting a whistle form my intake as well mut i have the WEAPON-R sr intake....but mine isnt at or above a certain speed ...it only happens every once in a while and it seems ot be on really windy day that it happens more. i was told its because of the FINS that are on my filter element. ...

from my previous experience, a whistling sound was caused by a small imperfection on the plate inside the throttle body.. when I replaced the throttle body I saw a little nick on the edge of the plate that caused a small amount of air to pass by, giving me a nice little whistle at anything but WOT (wide open throttle).

When I replaced the throttle body the sound was gone, and the plate on the new TB was basically perfect.

It wouldn't hurt you to double-check the connection on all of your couplers though.

I wanted to thank all of you for your responses. I will try all recommendations this weekend and let you all know. The whistling noise is driving me nuts.
