it's sound logic. :p

this made me giggle. I've thought of adding a hitch to my box...I just can't justify the price. :p As much fun as it would be towing a teeny little trailer around, most of the stuff I have to haul fits INSIDE the box just fine...

So, in order to do this, I would need to purchase a jet-ski, also. How much did THAT run you? :D
Yeah, a jetski/small trailer is pretty much the only things you can tow behind. It cost $223.75 for (free ship at etrailer.com):

1 7/8" Ball
2" Ball
Trailer Hitch
Tailight Wiring Harness
Drawbar Kit

OMG! You can't tow a trailer! Don't you know that if you hook a trailer to the back of an xB it will tear the car in half! And you'll crash into a bus full of nuns! NUNS! Do you want that on your conscience?

Actually, the stock box sports a hefty 108HP. But that 145 is blown way outta proportion!

That would be so funny to see a little xb pulling that boat.

I have thought about putting a hitch on to pull a little trailer. Something real small.

Yeah, last night I thought to myself..."Instead of pulling the boat, I could pull the trailer without the boat on it." It would look comical on the roads, and I am sure the box could tow it w/o a "hitch". lol funny joke.

Hey... I resemble that remark!

Of course, my argument is a bit different... more like, "The Scion xD/Toyota Urban Cruiser is rated to tow in Europe with a smaller engine, therefore it can tow at least that amount in the US."

To the OP, don't worry about what non-tow'ers say... we know what can and can't be towed because we DO it! I dealt with a lot of that over at the VW forums... but at least VW rates their cars for towing in the US... even though they dumb down the rating to 1/3 of the European rating. At least Saab has the ***** to give their cars tow rating that are close to the Euro spec. Not quite... but close.

When I took my box out to dyno day at a local shop I hit a whopping 88HP when it was stock.

I have a stock 2006 Xb. Can this hitch support a bike rack for an electric bike (80#?) thanks, Jeff

The biggest problem you'll have is that the hitches for the xB are a class I, and hitch-mounted racks are almost universally sized for a class II or bigger receiver.
