On my rear window, the bottom defrost wire looks like an accordian. I could swear it was straight before. It's the the section right under wiper, but on the inside. Is this the way they are supposed to be?

Yes. Mine are like that too. Maybe it's only for 06's.

 

Matt, a pic might help so everyone could compair to theirs.

 

My 06 has the zig zag (accordian) pattern on the bottom defrost wire.

 

they all have that to defrost the rear wiper, hence the accordian pattern

way back in the day the old Audi wagon had a rear window defroster that said quattro on it and when it would defrost, quattro would show through the ice/frost!

 

it to defrost the wiper blade.

 

Thanks... I guess I just never noticed it before. I bought mine March 30, 2006 and have 18K on it already, but never noticed that design before. Thanks to all who answered...
