I am not familiar with the land rover top, however I have been thinking about a sliding ragtop. I know the VW owners know what I am talking about.

Power sliding ragtop going in one of our customers cars this week. $1200 installed from a local shop. She contracted that on her own, but said she will bring by for photo op. Will post when we get them!

I talked to a shop about putting in a rag top slider and they said that cutting through the stability bar in the roof would be really bad for the car. I have been talking to them about some sort of roll bar to replace it. I'm really interested in seeing pictures of your customers xB. I think these cars were made for a rag top. However, without some sort of added stability for the frame the xB might get a little twisted over time!

I love 'em on old VWs (1964 was the last year they made ragtops in bugs) but don't really like them on newer cars. I'm having a power sunroof installed in my Hot Lava xB, but with a ragtop you either have all sun or no sun. At least with a sunroof it's tinted and can tilt or be fully open like a ragtop. I planned on having one installed on my '01 Beetle but after some thought decided not to.

But if you like 'em, go for it. They seal incredibly well, but most are vinyl instead of canvas

'Inalfa' makes the one I was gonna buy.
