Default Anyone tow anything with a xB for more than 20 miles

Already ran search found nada.

Well I'm back in the "screw it the Chevy's going away' time to get an xB mode again.
I had the Eaton Locker in the rear diff on my s-10 blow up last night. It's at the shop getting fixed again. I'm really starting to hate this truck so it's Time to give Mark at Camelback a call again.

The question is though I have a quad that I need to be able to haul (read tow). Where I ride is only 11 miles away from my house but if I want to take a dune trip I'm looking at 300 miles and some of it is through mountains, not big mountains but mountains all the same. I saw a xB trying to go above 70 through these mountains with 3 people in it and it looked like it was going to die. My thought it a black or blue xB, hitch, intake, ditch my ICE (in car entertainment, computer) 17's or 18's and a quiet muffler. The quad weighs only 425 lbs and my gear is another 100, trailer should be about 80 to 100 as well.

Has anyone had tranny issues or warranty work not covered because of towing?

Whats the price on the hitch and can it be hidden?

(yes I know I asked this before and didn't get answers)
I know I'm going from 200hp to 108 hp, v6 to a i4, large towing capasity to 'not supposed to tow' but I'm really in a bind. Mini trucks don't seem to exist any more and a Lightning or Harley truck is a bit more than I need for a daily 50 mile trip to and fro work.

There has been at least 5 threads on towing with an xB. :?

In summary:

Manual says no.
Most say you can, but make it light towing.
They sell tow bars, at least 2 makes.
Prices are around $250-$300 (from memory)

If you blow the tranny, take the tow bar off before you go for warranty work.

Anyone else????

I agree. It's not meant to tow. I'm sure it could do some really light towing on flat surfaces, but even a light trailer going up hill increases the load dramatically. I personally wouldn't want to do something that could damage the car and void the warranty at the same time.

id stick with lightweight rims , intake , full exhaust , header , iridium plugs , and no ice cept maybe a small single sub enclosure. as long as you keep it light and up the hp you shall be fine , i would get an auto or upgrade to a stage 2 or 3 clutch

I just found this on eBay yesterday and was thinking about getting one to tow my kids dirt bike.
