Default Armrest measurement needed!

Hi all, first post here. Been visiting for a while, and we finally bought an '05 xB just over two weeks ago. It's already got almost 1100 miles on it... we (wife and I) own a petsitting business, and both of us drive about 100 miles per day. She's the lucky xB driver right now, as I'm still in my original-owner '92 Geo Metro with 192,000 miles and the original clutch! Believe it or not, this is the first new car we've bought since then.

Anyways, we definitely need to add an armrest. The crucial deciding factor on which one is going to be how much "elbow support" it gives with the seat moved up closer to the dash. And no, it's not my wife that sits closer, it's me (I do get to drive it every so often). I've always preferred sitting closer than most do. I don't know if I'm considered short at 5'5", but that's the way it goes.)

What I'm hoping is if you own a Zeta or Boomerang, you can grab a tape measure and see how far it is from the end of the armrest to the storage compartment under the A/C controls. For where I sit, it needs to be at least 15" to get decent support. Just to be clear, I don't need a measurement on the armrest itself, but rather how much space there is from the end of it forward to the console.

If the Zeta or Boomerang don't come out far enough, I'm assuming the J&J model that actually attaches to the seat would be my only real option. If anyone owns that, am I right in thinking that it moves with the seat? Would it be like the ones in a PT Cruiser or Honda Element? (Those are the other two we looked at before buying the box)

Thanks in advance for helping me out, and we're very happy to be in the Scion family!

Default ARMREST

It's 18 inches from the tip of the Boomerang armrest to the face of the storage compartment, just under the little lip that we use as a handle to open it.

I think someone said in an older post that the "universal" armrest
from JC Whitney would fit. Here's the info...

I agree....that's what I got. Seems to me to be the nicest of the bunch. A little harder to install though.

Yep, that's gonna be too far back for my comfort. I need to have the tip of the armrest no more than 15 inches from the storage compartment to be able to use it.

Anyone got a Zeta to measure? If that's the same, I guess we go with the JJ...
