blower motor resistor

Exclamation blower motor resistor

hey guys i have a 2006 xb. i blew my blower motor resistor and need to replace it. i cant seem to find any good info online about how to go about it? anyone else replace it successfully?

Here is one thing you might want to look at:

It's easy. Should be on the bottom near the blower motor itself. You'll see the 2 screws and the plug and wires going to it.

Now the question. What make you think it's the resistor? Does your blower work on high only?

Hmmm, thats what mine is doing is only works on high.

looks like it is not an easy thing to check.

all i know is I just replaced mine in my other car and rock auto . com had the cheapest price. The resistor was 2.5x as much at kragen.

expect a few cuts on the hand

Working only on high is the main symptom that points to a faulty resistor. Only way to check is by replacing with a known good part or using a test light.

yeah i am going to have the dash off this week to run some new air line and wire, so i may tackle it then, and a test meter I do have, so i may tackle it while I have it torn apart
