Default Bunch of savages in this town.

Well this happened on Sunday, but with snowpocalypse 2011, I haven't had time to get on here.

So yea. The Alpine got jacked. Ironically, they didn't take the Garmin that was in the pocket under the HU, the iPod from the glovebox or the radar that was on the dash.

My comp deductible is $250. Took it in on Tuesday morning and gave me my craptastic Dodge Avenger, which you can kinda see here.

Update 1:
I got a call from my adjuster today. The quote is $867 in damages. They're replacing the window, rear door panel (apparently it was scraped up), the cut antenna wire and the center console (which also got scraped up a bit). I should get it back next Monday or Tuesday.

Update 2:
The first guy said they would pay me a depreciated value on the headunit (which was purchased 12/2007) so I wasn't expecting a whole lot.
The adjuster told me to go buy a new one and submit the receipt along with the receipt for the original (which was fortunately on file at the store I bought it from) and they'll reimburse me up to the original value. At that point, I didn't know what to expect.

I submitted the pictures and original receipt to the agent handling the claim and he just emailed me saying he's sending a check in the amount of $225 to cover the loss. Not bad. Ordered a new deck from Crutchfield for $189.

So far, so good. Here's hoping the car looks good next week.

Yea. I was parked on the street in front of my girlfriend's building... not making the mistake of leaving the faceplate on ever again.

I really think the thing that ____es me off more than the damage/theft is the fact that some _______ was in my car.

Sucks to hear what happened, at least your insurance is handling things. This is what makes me want to hook up train horns to an alarm system. That'll really get people's attention.

I feel the pain. I had my amp and subwoofer stolen from my box a in late 2008. It was a horrible feeling. It really sucks that people are willing to do that.

They definitely knew what they were doing. They broke off the retention ring on the dash kit and then it just kinda slides out. They unclipped the harnesses, but cut the antenna wire for some reason.

It was definitely quick and precise.
