Default Can U use Royal Purple ATF in the xB?

Im planning to change my ATF soon in my xB due to its groggyness it has now when shifting. Also Im planning to Buy an ATF cooler. But im asking is:

Can I use Royal Purple Max ATF in the Scion xB Auto Tranny in replacement of the Toyota Factory Fluid? Im reading that people are using that Amisol (or something Like that) full synthetic in replacement to the Toyota type IV fluid. The Royal Purple ATF says its fully compatable, but I just want to make sure so I wont buy a product I dont need.

No idea about the ATF, but does an xB need an auxiliary cooler? I've only heard about a trans cooler being installed on trucks that tow stuff or high output motors or other situations that slip a lot and burn the fluid.

Anything done to lower the fluid temp is a GOOD thing. I added a Hayden cooler to my wifes Sentra cause she uses it to pull a small boat occasionally. I'm thinking of adding one to the box also just for extended tranny life.

I have been running Royal Purple for a little over 3,000 miles now, and it is still doing fine, still shifts better. Just remember to pick up a new trans pan gasket and filter, I picked one up in a combo set from Auto Zone for around $20.

they are both good fluids. Amsoil and Royal Purple will compete with each other with just about every fluid produced and have very similar results.

My choice though would be the Amsoil.
