i don't know what paint Gary is using.. all i know is that he mixed his own color and used an industrial air brush sprayer to overlay the colors..then clear coat it so everything looks factory. u won't believe all even and smooth the paint is on the tail lights.
as for pricing... i have no idea. I know the stock lens cost close to $300 at the dealer. so...if u do a trade with the stock for the color ones...Gary will just charge you for the paint and labor ...then it'll be much affordable. If u're really interested...PM me. i'm thinking of using mine for the shows...

just curious, can you use stained glass paint? it's transparent and is a little bolder than airbrush paint... think it's stronger too.

i am not sure if stained glass paint will work cleanly...i'm no expert...gotta ask the Man at Nish Designs.
as for legality...ne thing modified is pretty much illegal...ur front window tint, modified exhaust, etc... but just to let u know... i took legality into consideration when Nish painted my tail lights....so i had him paint thinner than desired. I drove around a week already with the blue lights....on freeways and local streets...i had couple of cruisers pull up right behind me...but they didn't bother to say ne thing.
If u look carefully...u can see the red inner housing for the brake lights and even the reflector shines. But if anyone decide to overlay red ...it should be pretty much safe. Mine is a limited color...that u'll prob see at shows only...rather than on the road.

found this little tutorial online, uses stained glass paint on a crx's taillights and doesn't look bad...

just curious about the front sidemarkers... how do you remove them if you were to paint them?

i smoked my tails for 5 bucks and 45 mins of labor (15 mins to get lights in/out and 1/2 hour drying time under some flood lamps)

what type of paint? i just popped my sidemarkers off and screwed around with them using glossy black paint then rubbing it down with some paint thinner... works, but uggggly when the blinkers are on, you can see little speckles even though the paint is perfectly flat to the touch. just screwing around testing it. paint thinner will wipe that sucker clean off.

the project that crx did might work for a little while, but it will wear away and dull after time. it seems like the nish ones will last a lot longer, but only time will tell with the way he is doing it.

IMO, looks crappy, maybe it looks better in person, but it looks like GHETTO SPRAY PAINT MOD from here :?
