remove the rear wiper (a necessity if you have a bumpin' system), Smoke your tails, get the LED dome lights, change your gauges to LED bulbs.

I'm thinking about making a stencil of my name out of window tint and put it on the 3rd brake light. I'm sure that's cheap.

you could make a in-cabin air filter (thanks xBHawk, did it yesterday, should give fresh air and less dust in the cabin).
$10 at home depot could get you 6 filters, search DIY Cabin Air filter.

you could change the orange lights in the AC panel to another color by getting little bulb covers to put over the existing lights, i saw a pair for 3.99 at pep boys today.
1st topic in the tech section.

as for the LEDs, I'm not sure about the guage LEDs, but you can just buy LED dome lamps. i got blue ones, but they were too blue so i had a friend switch out 2 of the 6 blue LEDs to white LEDs to see a bit more, still can't see that great in the cabin though so i'll have him switch out 2 more.

Paint interior trim pieces...I've been using rustoleum automotive primer (flat black) and Then Rustoleum metal flake blue...finished in Rustoleum laquer. I used to mix different brands but got bad results..the all rustoleum approach has worked for me...plus i love how deep this blue is...

sure this will sound very dumb, and i am ok with that.

but does the xB come stock with a cabin filter? I have had no time to actually look, been working massive OT and then its toooo dark and cold and i forget to look.

If so, would buying the OEM one from the dealer be a good buy or making my own is better?

The xB doesn't come stock with cabin filter. You need buy one separately. I also made a DIY one and it's definitely made a difference. I've found everything from twigs to small leaves in the filter.

Plenty of inexpensive mods out there. cardomain.com has 1000+ 1st gen xB's listed with pics of many mod ideas. Some very modded, others practically stock. You might find some ideas from that listing. Scionlife has many listed in the the tech area, along with some very detailed step-by-step instructions. Enjoy the BOX.

nah, no soldering for most of the dash LED's. just buy some led bulbs and put them in. Only thing thats hard to change is the odometer and the cluster.

A Cheap mod that is well worth it is the home made Ground kit. Check the tech area on here for the how to. Just did mine and noticed an improvement in ride quality.

Don't forget to add the 1/2" spacers under the front seats. Just need 4 longer bolts and some spacers or stacked washers wrapped in black tape.

What's this mod exactly for? More height in the cabin?

^^^ NO, more thigh support and better sitting position. Brings the front up just enough to support the backside of your thighs.
