Very beginning of march-it works great so I will either header wrap it or use steel zip ties and mount the heat shield (stealthy thatw ay too) if it gets a lot worse.

It actually still stays cool, even in the places where it's flaked though.

Yea, that just wouldn't fly with me. I mean, it works, but I'm to **** about my parts to have flaking ceramic. My stainless looks as good as it did when I installed it... although it's gold now.

It is suppossed to be stainless underneath the coating so I doubt you will have problems with rust if the coating falls off. I did hear tho if you wrap it you will.

Yeah, it's ss with ceramic coating-I will only wrap it if it starts to get and stay hot. I'm not really worried about the rust aspect anyway-it seems like it is pretty well made (for the price especially) and one of the reason I got this one is it was 1/2 inch smaller in diameter than most so the torque wouldn't be as affected.

I was definitely for performance first (hence the size requirements), price second and I really didn't want anything shiny to draw attention at DEQ or anything. That's why I might just strap on the heat shield when it gets close to deq time anyway.

I just installed mine..... But I am getting a heavy vibration after the car warms up and I drive it for a bit. It's only at idle after driving, but it sounds bad. I can't think of what it could be, ive tightened several times, any suggestions?

i feel stupid. One of the original spring loaded bolts was never retrieved by me. So once the car warmed up and drove a bit, the bolt shifted and would vibrate. I picked up the bolt from where it was lodged, and am waiting to test it out. lol

If it's the coated ceramic one it's a quality piece. Welds are real nice and this header is the deal of the century in my eyes.

The welds, guage of steel, etc-the structural things are actually really well done and the coating actually keeps it really cool (for a header)

Yep. Fixed it! The bolt must have been moving around and getting stuck in just the right spot. It was weird..... I jacked up the car to investigate and saw another spring bolt. I'm thinking, gosh thats in an awkward spot......

I am pretty happy with it. Not sure on performance gains, maybe a bit between 3-4k.....but i think it might not be so hesitant when starting out now. Thanks for the tips Greybox! You were very brave!

Or maybe just cheap. I am happy with it as far as performance and like I said, the car seems to learn it and work better a few weeks later (I also have an exhaust and an opened airbox with K&N drop in) and there is the fact that it has a learning CPU so unplug the battery and drive it like nuts when you plug it back in and it should give a little more bump.

I have been running this header for some time now and it is xtremely loud if you remove the resonator and install a new muffler.

I recomend not removing the resonator.

Mine sounds the same as stock one did with my lightly baffled Strup. Now with more poop tho.

Anyone know what the torques specs are on the exhaust header bolts?

Bought this header, installed it, and love it. No loss of hp and torgue in bottom end. Feels like mid and top gained a little. Well worth the ~$60 investment.

The flaking seems to have stopped-possibly just some contamination on those few places when they coated it. Still stays cool.
