Not true. The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) Title 108 requires an amber reflector mounted on the side of the car as far to the front as practicable.

Again, not true. There are numerous states that have adopted the FMVSS in their own motor vehicle code. I'm not sure if NJ is one of them, but I would want to have a backup plan for inspections just in case.

I live in NJ and have cleared my headlights 3 days after buying our Xb. I don't have to have an inspecton until 10/08, so there's no concerns about passing inspection now.

Anyway, I always take my truck to a private inspection station because I have tinted windows and did have tail light covers. I'd always pass there and it was worth the $30, plus I could schedule the inspection instead of waiting at the DMV.

doesnt matter if you have clear corners, what they are most likely looking for is the color of your bulbs. If you get pulled over & get a ticket then just put the orange turn signals back in, and thats it

here in miami it's illegal to have cleared or blue bulbs i guess the cops don't have time to write a ticket for bulbs they rather catch the speeders, anyway i had my 2001 honda civic cleared corner with blue bulbs and never got a ticket but got at lease 8 speeding ticket doh...
