My clutch just started slipping. Got 14k miles on it after about 28 months. I will call dealer tomorrow and see if I can't get it replaced under warrenty.

If not, I'll cough up the $800 or so P&L.
I'll upgrade to an ACT HD pressure plate and street disc kit.

Wise move for sure. Maybe a heavy duty one will have a more normal lifespan.

He should modify "No, my clutch doesn't slip" to "No, my clutch doesn't slip YET" LOL
It's not a matter of if only when! I can't believe they cheesed out on the clutches.

I just posted about this. My PP is warped so says the dealer. Never abused my car... etc etc. If it was paid off, I'd trade this car is so freaking fast and never look back. VERY disappointed. Will be installing an Exedy clutch, making larger payments and selling this car ASAP.

FYI, car has 36k. I drive 80 miles a day, 6 days a week on the freeway.

It now seems it slipped only when the clutch was cold.
Seems to grab OK at 5500 rpm when warm.

I have 20,000 on mine, and I'm noticing it, not going into gear smoothly or grinding, w/ clutch pedal pushed down all the way. I've had strange problems w/ my xB since new, so I wouldn't be surprised about my clutch. From reading here, I'm expecting it, lol.

I drive like a grandma (except for high speed corners) so my clutch is fine.

no it's not. it's less than 750 to get a VERY upgraded part that should last the life of the vehicle.

it sucks but it's worth it.

I feel for all the 5 speed owners that drive their cars normal but wont see a normal life span on their clutches because scion cheaped out on the pressure plate spring pressures.
