Default Covering them ta-ta's

so, the box is getting a little older now, she just turned 3 and is starting to mature and all so i think its time for a bra.

haha

seriously though, living down here on the beach is not the best place for a HUGE front end. sand constantly blowing and rocks constantly chipping, and in the spring, summer and fall time, there are more bugs than you can shake a stick at (trust me thats a lot of bugs) ive dealt with it for 3 years now, constantly repairing the front end from mother natures fury.

I want to go the bra route, no the bra wont be on there 100% of the time, Yes, i know if it rains the bra has to come off or it will hold moisture between it and the paint damaging the paint. i know all of that.

Does anyone have any pics of their box in a bra, i would love to see a modded one that is the color of snow but after doing a ton of searching, ive only found one PW in a bra and it was wrecked and stock so it couldnt give me an idea what mine would look like, i think it would look sick.

Why don't you just go the 3M clear bra route? I have one on my TC here in Colorado, we have alot of dirt and rocks here too, but her front end looks really good for being an 06. Just a thought for ya.

mine is not PW but here it is anyways.

first is the Colgan full front bra and the "oem" hood one.

Then I changed it up with the Colgan "T" style hood bra.

From what I have always read and heard the Colgan is the best fitting one out there, esp on the hood. The others are too big and flap, or straight up don't fit right. Same with the full front piece as well, I like the way the Colgan fits, others don't seem to "form" to the front very well.

cool thanks will for the pics, gives me a little understanding of how well they form, i was looking on ebay at a "le bra" it was under $70 shipped, i would love to see pics of one of them on somebodys car.

STITCHES - i dont wanna go the clear bra route because i have carbon fiber and ive heard that it looks bad on carbon, and i also like the way a bra makes the box look like its gonna be in an S&M movie lol...all it needs is a big zipper between the 2 lower grills

I agree with Gothbox! The Colgan "T" bra is awesome and doing about 90mph, it doesn't flap all over the place!

Dane, put the le bra outta your mind bro. It's complete junk. It actually hurts the paint for lack of design.
Le Bras are for people that just want to cover collision damage on their Hoopties. LOL

Not true with Colgan. I've been running one since they first came out with them for the box. I use it year round, winter covered with salt spray, and summer with the pop up rain showers and sun, with no paint problems so far.

After lots of use you will notice some slight scratching around where the hooks go into the fender well. But it's a lot less noticeable than all the front end rock chips in the paint you would get without a bra. Especially in a place like western PA where they use lots of "cinders" in the winter, and "tar and chip" the roads in the summer.

Dave, if you leave it on most of the time you are not seeing when the moisture gets trapped under the clearcoat. Running a Colgan in the rain most def. messes up the paint. It took days of sitting in direct sunlight to finally get the cloudy spots in the paint to go back to normal.

Yeah, I wouldn't leave it on my car all the time, there's a colgan on eBay for $125 but it's the carbon fiber finish, I don't really want that one, I want straight black, I think I will keep looking on there til I find someone that decides to sell theirs rather than paying retail.

I have the CF one and those nooks and crannies hold bug guts and other debris. I too wish I had gotten the smooth version but I only use it for exteded road trips outta town anyhow so it's all good.
