I painted the 'import racer' xb when I sprayed the interior parts solar yellow for Tim.
Nice! If I were to ship you a car, would you be able to do another Solar Yellow one? How much?
Also, do you know where I can find one that looks a little more stock? My wife would want one that looks more like her actual car...not quite so slammed.

Im not sure if there is a stock looking diecast car of the xb. I know there is a plastic model kit availabe. Check ebay maybe. Placing a price on painting such a small item is hard, concidering the cost of the paint and all. I painted Tims at the same time I painted the interior parts. It still needs to be taken apart, sanded and door panels masked off with tape the glued back together bacause all the tabs have to be ground off with a dremel. Its a big job for a small car for what you would be wanting to pay.

I could really use some advice on how to get at those steering-wheel accent pieces though. Is there an easy way to get them out of the car for painting?
Step #1: Disconnect the battery (most important step, I disconnected both + and -)
Step #2: Loosen the two torx srews on the steering wheel. They do not need to be
completely removed. Lift airbag away but remember it is connected by wires
still. Pull it far enough out so that you can get to the wires
Step #3: Unplug the wire that goes from the air bag unit into the steering column
Step #4: Next you will see two plugs that plug into the back of the air bag. One is
Black and the other is Orange. Lift up the yellow tab/clip looking thing on
the Black one. It will only lift about an 1/8 of an inch. Now pull the Black
plug off of the air bag. Do the same for the Orange clip. You should be
done and the air bag is now in your hand
Step #5: Tape the loose wires with electrical type to keep them from touching
(not sure anything will happen if they touch but I taped mine to be safe)
Step #6: Reconnect the battery
Step #7: Your air bag light will remain on, no big deal. It will go off when you
reinstall the air bag. If your maintenance light or check engine light
comes on, reset it by making sure your odometer is set to show your
vehicle mileage, not your trip mileage. Turn off car. Push in and hold
your odometer reset button and turn the key to on position. Hold it for
approx 5 seconds, your odometer will return to your vehicle mileage and
the light should be out
Step #8: Find your nearest painter.
Step #9: To reinstall, follow these steps in reverse order. Good luck

I agree with the too much yellow, but the engine bay looks good.

maybe too much yellow, but certainly accents the ride!

btw, where'd you find the toy car!? Is it a Jada toy?

I'm really not sure what toy xB that is. I thought it was the DUB City one but n2htwlz wrote above that it was an import racer xB so I'm really not sure. I got it for free and it was a bright blue color. As far as too much yellow, there is so much more of the interior to paint if someone wanted to but I just had him paint the accented parts. For example, I have seen where the entire speedo pod cluster has been painted but n2htwlz came up with the idea to just two-tone it.

I'm surprised you didn't get the xB emblem on the dash painted yellow.

Yup, made by Jada. Import racer has the interchangeable hood and wheels, the Dubcity has just the car without all the graphics. If you need another set of wheels to paint for your mini xb I have a few sitting here.

Great job. I wish I lived closer. It was just enough not to overdo it. It really looks good.

It'd be a good time for mine to go in the shop for work like that, both feet in a cast.

I think it the paint looks great. I just think you should get the rearview mirror painted yellow too. Look up into that mirror and...BAM!...yellow rim. It's the small things that count in big ways.

Ive done that. I can paint the mirror. Just need to ask.

Or how about the shift ****.

Parts painting is all up to the imagination.
I feel the same as some of you do about over doing it with interior paint, the way I see it is if it is already painted then your not over doing it. All the silver trim in the scions are painted silver for those who didnt know.
