Dealer installed Scion security or Aftermarket...Moonroofs?
Going into the dealership today to put down my deposit. Dealer told me I need to configure the options online but I've heard many say that i should not get the dealer installed scion security, and go aftermarket. Also what exactly is so different about the dealerinstalled security rather than aftermarket. One more thing...they dont have an option for sun/moonroofs...do you have to also install that as an aftermarket option? Thanks!

The dealer installed alarm or scion security is not going to have starterbypass curcuit, no starter kill, no door triggers, just a horn honk no siren, it is over priced. Check the other forms on this topic. Bill Turner

I have the scion one, cuase i thought it would be a good one and work with my car. BUT IT SUCKS *****. for 100 more, you can get the best sceruity on the market for for like 570. it will have 2 way pager, remote start, and more ____ you wont know whatto do with, BUT will be a nasty set up.

Haven't you owners also noticed the panick button on the keyless entry fob? when you hit it, the lights blink, and the horns blow -- just like scion security..
Riddlemethissss..
how's come they couldn't have just rigged that to an electrical sensor that operated this "panick" signal when a door was opened or window broke??
My bet is that the whole alarm is ALREADY THERE. just like the fog wiring with no fog lamp. they just flip a switch somewhere in the engnebay for 300+bucks!
My only TRUE gripe with the Scion "establishment" -- how can they belive in the borderline ridiculous pricing on accessories when their target market is young-tech savvy-internet users?? Oh well, I'm sure they get their fair share of unsuspecting victims.

I paid around $360 for my aftermarket alarm.
Two-Way
Door trigger
Hood Trigger
Remote Start
Remote Windows (two window modules)
Extended Range Antenna
Yea, I got a hookup from a friend who still works at CC, but everything but the windows can be had, by everyone else, for $400, or less, if you shop around. The biggest break I got was I didn't have to pay for install, just buy the man some dinner. :D
