Yeah, you end up getting haters in there voting low numbers and it throws off the true averages. There should be records of who's voting what and it might discourage some of that nonsense.

I was horsing around with mine the other day (just figured out how to vote) and it seems as though I can vote for myself.
I fixed the high marks I gave myself as my Scions soooo aren't worthy of it, lol.
Of course, I'm only assuming I changed my scores. I'm still a tad baffled how the scoring/rating thing works.

You know what I mean hotbox. You go through the cars at the top and see some really bad rides and some moron went in there and voted it 1s and 2s. It's like yeah right. Lets be more honest and vote real scores for the ones that deserve it. I realize that everyone might not like everyone elses mods but don't be voting low scores just because it's not your style. That's childish to say the least!

hotbox, I think I could also click your profile and lower your rating, right now, if I didn't like your comment (or you personally) in this or other threads. That wouldn't be a reflection of your car but my feelings towards you and that's not fair.

whether you appreciate a cars style or not you should be able to vote 1's or 2's or 3's or 4's or 5's . voting someone down cause they don't like what another member says is wrong but there really no way to discern that unfortunately.
i vote 1's-5's depending on if i like their car or not. i don't hold back , i don't vote higher or lower than what i think of their RIDE not them. someone could be a huge jerk and if they deserve a 4 or 5 i'll vote it. if heyre super cool but their ride is weaksuck they get what it deserves , a 1,2 or 3.

I do. Vote that is. I dont think alot of people do tho as there arent that many vote recorded on the profile. It would be interesting to have a view counter on the profiles pages
Dammit I went to my profile and realized that when I updated my gallery last night I changed my top display profile pic unintentionally, resetting all my votes;/ The votes since yesterday were few and pretty good, but, that wasnt the pic I wanted there, soooo, I just switched it again and of course reset the votes again lol. So quick now everyone go to my profile and give me some more of them 5's

My method for voting was
1 - stock
2 - light mods (wheels and springs, CAI or SRI, lip kit, ect.)
3 - mild (wheels/springs/sways, intake and exhaust, header lip kit or body kit, sound system, ect.)
4 - big mods or lots of mods (wheels, full suspension, full sound system, some sort of F/I, full body kit or custom paint, ect.)
5 - showstopper (wheels, suspension, ICE, F/I, custom paint, widebody, ect.)
I think that when I did vote, it was mostly 1-3, a few 4s and maybe two 5 star ratings. Personally, it takes a seriously modded car with lots of time and money put into it to get a vote for 5.
Keep in mind that I don't use the rating system anymore and that was a general guidline I used for voting. I based it strictly on the car, not the owner.

I have voted on a few cars, and voted honestly, but there are so many problems with the way people abuse the system I don't even let 'em vote on mine, even though I'd like to have a pic pop up when someone hovers over the label under my avatar.
Some of the problems:
It's more of a 'popularity contest' than a true rating of the vehicles.
Some clubs have been notorious for voting their members high ratings and non-members low across the board.
Those few times I allowed voting on mine, I could watch the low ratings stack up whenever I warned someone...
And finally, my personal opinion that just because one car has more mods than another, doesn't make it better - its the vision and execution. There are some highly modified rigs out there that have high ratings, but just aren't of a quality to really warrant being rated better than some more subtle but extremely well done cars.
Bottom line is I think think the ratings are BS so I just ignore them. YMMV.

Hmmmmmmm... That's fairly new, Captain...
We used to have that, and it was useful - people would ask about specific mods or accessories and I'd answer with details, for example.
It went away when the gallery was rebuilt, but now it's back.
Glad to see it, so long as the individual gallery owners can get rid of 'bad' comments.
