Shelby's Custom Green xB

Shelby Koshak's Scion xB started as a project car that Gene Tjin of HCi and Bscene magazines started. Wanting to differentiate himself from a plethora of Scion xB owners, he created this custom Ralph Lauren color xB.
Along with tons of carbon fiber accents, fender flares, deep dish rims and other JDM dress up parts, this retro project xB vehicle was almost completed when he decided to move on to another project.

Along came Jim Koshak, a custom street car builder of mostly 69 Camaros and former ISCA (International Show Car Association) judge.

During a difficult period in his life, his lovely wife, Elizabeth and daughter, Shelby was there to support him. For his gratitude for his family,
Jim recently sold his '69 Camaro RS/SS convertible and decided to pick up a custom 1971 K5 Blazer for his wife and a custom 2004 Scion xB from Gene Tjin for his daughter.

Then the import bug hit this family hard. Finishing up what Gene had started, Jim and daughter, Shelby, started to finish up the work on the car. This included interior modifications and the audio/video system.

Now that the car has both the outside and inside of this retro xB completed, they started hitting the car show circuit pretty hard. Taking 2nd place at Import Motion, Jim and Shelby set their sights for Hot Import Nights in Los Angeles, CA.

HIN is one of the premier car shows in the United States and is very selective on deciding on who gets in and who doesn't (kind of like some of these posh clubs in Hollywood to where you got to know someone to get in or have to look the part).

With an elaborate display, Jim, Elizabeth and Shelby, had taken the most coveted trophy at HIN • Hottest Scion as well as 3rd place for -Vehicle Presentation/Display. Not a bad start • winning trophies and cash at HIN.
This family now have their focus on a few more upcoming shows in the West Coast with the hopes of winning more hardware and cash prizes. Along the way, they are hoping to pick up a few more sponsors.

Currently they proudly sport the following companies who have supported them such as Turtle Wax, CF Type, Team Prototype, Scion Sport, M & M Audio, Toyo Tires and more.

I am certain you'll be seeing this xB through out car shows in the West Coast and possibly on some car enthusiast web sites. With so many future plans in store for this xB,
this import madness is sure nor going to slow down. With Jim's wife and daughter on his side, they really have made this a family affair with this awesome Scion xB as a centerpiece.
