Well, the tails were looking pretty shabby. Faded bad. And since I removed the red cover in the taillight housing, they were starting show more white than red. So I decided to paint again. A couple weeks ago I stopped by Michael's and picked up a can of paint. Today I did the deed. They came out different than the first time, and by reading my first post again, I figured out why.
When I did them the first time, I used Kryon stained glass paint and they came out awesome, looked OEM to me. Not even thinking about it, the paint I got this time is Valspar stained glass paint. Too late now, but I'm not real happy with how they came out this time. Way too bright. Maybe they'll grow on me, otherwise, eBay here I come.

Old, right after they were done the first time

They are tinted with 20% overlays and I have the colormatched garnishes, but I have always wanted to go with tails like yours, I've always thought all red looks sexy, even thought about doing red and throwing a splash of yellow where the turn signals are.

Finally got tired of the crappy paint job on the tails. They look like absolute feces, plus I noticed one day when my wife was pulling into the driveway that the brakelights could barely be seen in broad daylight.
Ordered LED tails off the 'bay. Hopefully they'll be here in the next few days.

Andy, you should like those tails. They look awsome on the xB. I have some that are real close.

Thanks Jeff...

Unfortunately I spoke too soon. I got an email yesterday from the seller saying all his stock was damaged. So he is supposed to refund the purchase price. What's bad is that Lokakech seems to be the only seller with that particular style, specifically the lowers in rectangular/clear. Everyone else is smoked. I did find a couple other clear lowers, but they have the round look to them. I did find a thread from a year or so ago where the person said that all the sellers seem to be using those photos still, but all the new stock has the rectangular lowers. I sent an email to one seller asking them to verify if possible.

EDIT 03/07/11: Seems I've come full circle. I'm now running stock heads & tails. Got a set of lightly used tails CHEAP! off eBay, and I still had my stock headlights.
It was easier to edit this post than to bump the entire thread.

Here's the latest. New Kenwood DDX419 HU and deleted wiper.

Also got new tires. Michelin MXV4's. They're tires, don't think I need a pic.
The old Bridgestone were worn down and sun cracked after almost 5 years and 40,000 miles. They howled like a _____ too. The Michelin's make it feel almost like a brand new car.
