What a bunch of idiots. They don't even know what they are talking about. If they are going to _____ about something they could at least get the facts right. I love my xB and I would buy it again any day over an Exploder!

Let the BS begin. I have a XB and an Exploder. I love both cars for very different reasons. As for Fords lasting, mine has almost 80 k on it with nothing more than oil changes needed. The guys on that forum simply are uninformed. Give them a year and I bet some of them own XB's.

Don't let a few morons sour your view on Ford. I've owned everything from Rangers to Escorts and for the most part they've been pretty reliable cars...providing you don't beat the crap out of it on the way to the store. There will always be some group of redneck knuckleheads out there that are more than willing to bash on something they don't understand or don't care to be a part of. What they need to learn is that if you don't like the xB...don't drive one! No ones MAKING you look at them. Toyota and Ford are both exceptional vehicle companies and both have they're advantages. Can't we all just get along? Heh.

By the way, I'm new here. Been driving muscle cars, turbo vehicle, and torque monsters since I was 16 and absolutely fell in love with the xB the day I test drove it. Mine will be ordered soon and I hope to find some fellow owners here in the Atlanta area. Peace!

The Cobra is a bit much. Its something that gets broken lose once every two months or so, and lucky me today was the day. Brought it up to the shop to clean him (yes, its a him) out, change his fluids, so on and so forth. Then he gets parked again. I'll be stripping and selling the V6 for the Scion, though. Its been my daily driver for some time, but its a ticket magnet. The xB had me hooked on the space inside, the gas mileage, Toyota's reputation for reliability, and the truly bold styling. I'm going to have a lot of fun with my box and can't wait to become more involved in the Scion community. From what I've been reading on these boards, all of you seem like pretty stand up people. :D

sounds like me and my stealth. But not as much power. :D I like the xb but the loss of power is gonna be hard to manage, till some boost comes out. But this type of thing happens all the time. I know the 3/s platform gets ragged on a lot because people just don't know a whole lot about it. But they sure as hell think they do. I liked the community here till I got into the "race" forum where it seemed more like a riceish honda community. But I have to get something new so the xb is it.

Of course they're baggin' on the xB - consider the source! They are Exploder Enthusiasts

But if you want to get to the heart of the matter, check out this part of their forum, the maintenace and problems section. It made me cringe just looking at the titles of some of the 520 threads:

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...splay.php?f=74

Compared to our section, the blue temp light, a few noises, a small small percentage of peeps having any real trouble...I think you get my drift.

It's that age-old tactic - make yourself feel better by putting someone else down. Besides, they are showing their automotive ignorance trying to figure out what they saw. How many times have you seen a car lately that you couldn't identify? The only one that comes to mind was the ATOZ I saw and I've only seen the same one, twice.

They can make fun of it all they want especially at the gas station, as I drive away and they are still filling up their fugly gas-guzzling emmission-spewing, middle-eastern funding POS's

What I don't get is all these forums hating on the xB and xA. Don't they have anything better to do? I don't get it. You don't see US hating on the Element, Aztek and LEAST OF ALL Explorers. Man these fools need to get a life!

Just brilliant. Somebody posted a link to this thread in that thread. All we need is a cross-forum flame war.

Hey, we like our Scions, they like their Explorers. Can't we just get along and ignore the pot-stirrers?

Look, anyone ever says that a FORD is just as reliable as a TOYOTA is out of their minds. People who buy TOYOTAS have a different mindset, that of knowing the car WILL last. For me, I could never drive an EXPLORER. There is no personality to the car at all, and like CAMRY and ACCORDS, you're one of a million already on the road...where's the fun in that??

Actually, there are several threads pointing out how ugly the Element is. (j/k...sorta) And I think even Aztec owners gotta know that thing ain't winning any beauty pageants...

It's just a natural response, most people like validation that they made a good choice. Obviously, there hasn't been a car invented that will suit everyone's needs - and that's a good thing. Different bore and stroke for different folks. The SUV thing doesn't appeal to me, even tho we camp every summer. the Gr. Caravan does the job. I commute too much to drive a big gas guzzler when I'm mostly driving solo. Some people need the advantages of an SUV. many people just like them but never use the extras or even get them off the pavement. When I worked at a Jeep dealership, we would have people come in that owned a jeep for 3 or 4 years but didn't know how to get it into 4x4... If you need it. get it. But don't hate on me cuz I don't need or want it.

The fact that the xB doesn't appeal to the Budweiser, McDonald's and Ford tastebuds is just another check in the Plus column.

All of my friends told me not to get an xb cause they are fugly. But every one of them came up to me when i got my car and said that it was badass. My car has 18 rims, 1.8 inch drop, and red genie aero kit. Hell the guy at the car wash walked up and said "damn Boy, Gettin down wit ya badself" i laughed and he gave me a free carwash. Well my point is, is that these cars, you either love em or you hate em. We all love them, and by people seeing xB's that are not stock, It changes their perspective on the car as a whole.

HAHA.. I LOVE BASHING OTHERS...

AS FOR FORD ... OR OTHERWISE KNOWN AS "FIX OR REPAIR DAILY = F.O.R.D." are JUNKs in my opinion... Just pick up any used car magazine and u'll see why the resale value is down the gutter for any Fords. I don't know about others...but i like to get the most bang for the bucks...and i think scions offer that.

Explorers are junk...My uncle used to own an eddie bauer Explorer...and it stunk like a pee. Within its first year of ownership...the transmission was recalled, the gas tank gauge malfunctioned, rattling noise from the pistons emerged...really loud, sounded like a diesel engine. You get the idea~ He bought the car for $28,000...and ended up getting $12,000 after 4 years of use. That is some ugly ___ resale value. Not to mention..rear seats in an Explorer freaking sux - talk about cheap seatings.

I wish everyone thought like this.

Please guys.. this is sad. Im from that explorer forum. We dont sit around all day making fun of cars. And yes we have a lot of things in the maintnence section.. because some of our cars have over 200k miles on them.

But lets be realistic here... Yes, i do not like the look of the xb. And thats my opinion. we werent making fun of scoin owners, calling you guys idiots, saying you need to get a life, etc. Its called an opinion.

I wish you guys would go over and check out what dart said over there. What gave him the right to call us Morons? And then someone else a Dork?

Its one thing to make fun of the look of a car- dont bash the owners.

Like i said there: If someone came up to me in a parking lot and said "your explorers ugly", id say "its not yours". If someone else came up to me and said "you're a MORON" then they'd get hurt.

so lets please try to avoid some un-necessary forum battle thing and live our lives like humans. (and i apologize to those who werent making fun of the "people" instead of the cars for this long post.)
