Girly Girl Needs Help
LoL...so yeah I'm a girl and don't know too much about cars. Anyways, I want to put rims on my Scion xB. I was wondering if there are specific type of rims it can only use, and how much would a good price be? I was looking around ebay and saw a few that interested me. Like I said though, I'm a girl and don't know too much about cars. So if you guys can help out by answering my questions I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!!!

If I may suggest, don't take a risk and buy your rims online. Get a friend and go to a local tire/wheel shop and get professional opinion on the spot. That way, if the fitment is not correct, you can atleast have them fix the problem. I have found that dealing with online merchants, you will not get what you paid for if something goes wrong... not too mention when you are dealing with wheels.
OR
Get a good reference from one of the members here on the forum that can send you in the right direction and someone that knows about the Scion.
Good Luck!

In general, racing technology means lighter, faster, stronger. All that means more expensive.
I'm guessing you just want a nice set of wheels. You can spend about $900 and get some good quality, nice looking wheels and tires (complete set, ready to roll).
Since you're in California, I'd recommend you check out www.wheelwarehouse.com. They have lots of good wheel choices, and have everything from pretty wheels, to racy wheels. They have a lot more wheels than what you see on their website though. Call 714.772.1281. Ask for Brett and tell him how much you want to spend. He'll help you hook up with some good wheels. Tell him that Anson with the scion xB in Honolulu sent you. He won't disappear after you give him your money. He helped a bunch of xB owners out here in Honolulu get wheels, and he still supports us 100%. Wheelwarehouse is a reputable name, and they've been around for a while. I endorse Brett and WW because they've been really helpful and nice. Oh yeah, they have good wheels for great deals too.
Don't worry about fitment and things like that. Tell them what car you have. They will tell you what can and what can't fit. They will send you a complete set of wheels and tires, ready to install on your car. If you want to visit them, you can!

Need help deciding on wheels? Let me know what your style and preference is, and I can help you by giving you some brands/models you can look at. Also, how much do you want to spend?

Hi just my 2 cents, I agree wheelwarehouse has a great selection on wheels. i've had a few friends work there before , but damn are they pricy... since you do live in riverside it's worth takeing a look at the place to check out the wheels. When you find the wheels you like then start comparing prices with other wheel outlets and shops.
To each his or her own on the style and size, bling or racee on the type of wheel for your xb. 18's and 19's seem to be the favorite size here in SoCal. I've ran both and 18's are a bit more comfortable . but 19's look so damn sik on the car. I have a few friends that work for wheel companies like Axis,Velox,Motegi,Zeo,Jaz.,Arceo, if you like any of the wheels these companies make let me know and I'll see what I can do for you. Peace

Brett at wheelwarehouse gave us a good deal. He was like, ok, those wheels are $1500. Then I was like, thats too much. I didn't want to spend more than $1200. He offered me the wheels for $1200. Same thing with my friend.
Your best bet? Find a wheel and tire you like. Then research how much they should cost. If you want, tell me what wheels and tires you're interested in. I thoroughly research all my car purchases, and since I just bought some wheels, I have lots of information on wheels and tires right now.
Wheelmax, wheeloptions, and wheelsnext all gave me pretty good quotes too, its just that Brett from wheelwarehouse really went the extra mile. He's been helpful, nice, and he has a good reputation among some scion owners here in Honolulu.
Again, tell him that Anson from Honolulu with the xB sent you. He'll give you a good deal if you ask for it

I'd recommend a low offset wheel. What this means is that the wheels will be nice and flush looking with the fenders. Not knocking any other style, but I like the wheels to be as close to the fender without sticking out. That being said, pretty much find a style you like and go from there. All wheels are variations of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9 spoke designs. So either sporty/racer look or bling-bling chrome/polished aluminum finish. Take your time too, because wheels pretty much make the car, so it is important that you find something you like and can deal with for how ever long you think you'll keep them (I have to keep mine until I win Lotto...).
Once you find a style you like, get the specs of the wheel and compare it to our wheel fitment guide. Check out the link here:
Wheel Fitment Guide
This page will tell you if the dimensions of the wheel you choose will cause any issues (example: too wide of a wheel will cause rubbing of fender, etc.). Also, check out the tread and butter forum on this site to see some other xB's with different wheels installed.
HTH & enjoy your xB!

I can't beleive no one mentioned TIRE RACK.
www.tirerack.com
It's simple as can be. Go there. Choose wheels, pick your car and it will show you YOUR car in YOUR color and ONLY the wheels which will fit your car, then you can point/click and see what those wheels will actually LOOK like on your car.
Best of all worlds.
Tire rack also has tire/wheel packages, good prices and they will send the wheels/tires to a shop in your area directly (they have MANY partnerships)
It's the easiest way to buy wheels and tires IMO and you can trust the quality of what they sell and their knowledge. They will sell you the right wheels and the right tire size for your car.
