Heres a few pics of what I did:

It was easy to remove the rear spray nozzle and plug the washer fluid tube so it wouldnt leak. I only turn the radio on a few times a day so I just run it off the 9 AA batteries it holds (thats right 9 of em...lol. the radio puts out 4 watts which is the most allowed by law). Id eventually like to hardwire the power adapter that comes with the radio to either my 1500 watt inverter I have under the driver seat or the cars 12 volt system.

Default 102 inch whip switch to 5 ft fire stick

I have a 2006 xB and drilled a ball mount with spring on the rear right quarter panel. For some odd reason the 102 inch whip had high SWR so I changed it to the fire stick antenna. Not perfect but better SWR. But a $500 CB radio Ranger peaked in tuned 120 watts

I want to put a CB in my xB for the same reasons but I have a question...where would I mount a 12-16 inch antenna...I'm pretty sure I'd have to drill a hole for it, I'm not into those magnet mount antennas where you have to run the coax through your window...any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.
When I can come across a good small radio that will drive I will reinstall the antenna. And get a bigger alternator if you know what I mean.

I just installed

Ranger RCI-X9 120w 10 Meter Radio W. AM, USB/LSB Mode

No need for a kicker. I don't want to upgrade the alternator. 102" whip was a little to long so I went with 5' Firestick
