Yea the AC doesn't sound like a good idea. In my experience, coolness tends to be good for moisture. You should try to be heating the car somehow with all doors open to air it out. Don't worry, I've had water in the car before and nothing happens.

Ummmm. Did you ever notice the puddle of water that forms under your car when the A/C is on? That is the moisture from inside the car. The A/C acts like a de-humidifier. So it would be a good way of removing moisture from wet interior parts.

Oh man, I've had this problem with several cars.(mostly with my first car when I was younger and careless) The only real damage I saw was with really hard rain. Watch out for any problems with the speakers in the doors. In my experience water ran inside the door panels and screwed up the speakers which had to be replaced.
