Default Help!!! VSC alarm beeps only during RIGHT turns????

Been having trouble figuring this out.... Did a search and all that to no success.....

Only during right turns mainly freeway on and off ramps... VSC becomes active and starts beeping while driving under normal conditions...

Roads are CLEAN AND DRY.... Ive gone faster a MILLION times b4 without the slightest beep...

I just rotated my tires now the balds are in the back... can this be it???

I seen 1 post in which a person had this exact same problem however a follow up with an answer was never posted....

your assistance is greatly appreciated....

The VSC does not beep. As has been posted lots of times--you need to hook it up and see what the trouble message is.

yup I would say that your back end is sliding - check the tire oressure in the left rear tire . . . it may be low. And it does beep rapidly three time in a row as I recall!

I am in need of some good tires Ill hook that up and see where we are at...

I just tested it and according to my gauge indicating G's im hearing slippage at .5 where as with the stock tires new I did not hear tracktion loss until 1.0 G's or so....

WOW guess I need to plug that G Meter into mine now that I have a spare power plug in the dash that I installed the other day and see what mine pulls. Yeah if you are missing some tread it will have an effect on the cornering but if you are into pulling 1.0 g's I would have a look under the chassis and check the suspension bolts and also make sure the wheel lugs are properly tightened too.
Also since you just rotated the tires they may take a while to wear into the proper contact patch for the new position that they are in now. You may be riding on only part of the tread.

mk-ultra

it's not REALLY beeping, it's the CIA sending you a message ;)

j/k I think you're on the right tack, replace the tires, and see where you're at.

Stop turning right and you should be fine. Seriously I think it's just a bad wheel speed sensor or tire size difference.

VSC works on total body yaw and doesn't interact with rotation speed of the wheels. It senses sideways motion and G forces in the wrong direction.

It is all connected. Wheel speed sensors are used in the equation. I'll post more details later.

If it's only happening in the same direction it might just be the yah box itself?

Here is the system description from the service manual. All the sensors feed into the single controller (ECU). As it also detect front or rear skid then i suspect that it uses the wheel speed sensors to compare each wheel's speed. That is just one of many inputs VSC uses.

In this case the yaw/deceleration sensor might be defective. Toyota mechanics can hookup their "Intelligent Tester" to the OBDII/CAN connector and they can read out all the sensor output values. If you had this tester then you too could see what info the yaw/deceleration sensor is sending to the skid control ECU.

I sit corrected - I didn't think in this case that wheel speed would be involved with the problem since he wasn't braking. I see that steering angle is an input also so maybe he has a fault in the angle sensor when turning to the right.
If tire wear is going to affect VSC so much it would explain the recommended tire rotation interval of 5000 miles.

I can tell you, from extensive "testing," that this beeping is the "your car is travelling a different direction than the steering wheel is pointed" alarm.

It could be the baldies in back are making you fishtail, but I would hope to dog that you'd be able to tell if that was happening.

If that ISN'T happening, something isn't reporting the way it should be. In any case, this is probably a problem for the dealer to attend to. It should certainly be covered under the warranty at this point.
