Default How Low Can I Go On 215/45/17's ??

I just purchased a set of 17" wheels on 215/45/17's this week and I'm now getting ready to purchase springs. I'm looking at the Tein S Techs. Will the drop on these springs be to low? I've seen a lot of people run this wheel and tire set up and I love the look, I'm just unsure about what springs people are using with with this set up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Max

a 215/45 will not be THAT much taller than a 205/45 which i am currently running. also on S techs.

you can go lower if you really want to. i just didnt want to be scraping the ground anywhere or over speedbumps or anything.

What's up?! great photo. Your XB is what inspired me to go with 17's. You replied to one of my posts a few months ago. I have a polar white XB as well. Do you know what offset your wheels are?

You'll be fine. I ran that size tire when I had 17"s. I was S techs as well. I put on some echo struts (which add another 1/2") and started rubbing on hard bumps. On stock struts I had no problems.

You can run DF210's, 2.2" front 2.0" rear.

i'd say you'll be fine, but it really depends on the offset of the wheels. I have 17x7.5 35et rims, and i rub like crazy. I'm also slammed 4" on coilovers, have camber, and had to stretch the tires to make it fit LOL.

glad i could inspire you. i pretty much think of my box as exactly what anyones could look like for about $1100 from stock :-) pretty inexpensive really for the outcome!

Check my profile for pics-Vogtlands=40mm drop (so like 1.55inches) and no rub even loaded down with people but the offset will definitely matter-I believe mine are 32.5

These springs are awesome and progressively wound so they have a soft initial feel but ramp up quick and I have never bottomed out-plus they were cheap from ebay ($152 new included shipping)

That tire size works just fine with the 40MM offset. That is the most common generic offset in the 17 wheel.

I run Progress Springs which drop more then the Stechs and rub minimally on large bumps.

Just stay away from rear spacers and you will be fine. I rubbed with that size tire after adding the rear 10mm OTG ones

Really? I have the OTG shims on mine since i bought it over 4 years ago. I have had 4 different wheel sets on my box and none ever rubbed. The did rub when i ran the Progress springs and the Monroes in the rear, but that was the only time i rubbed.

Yeah, the Monroes allowed mine to rub too. I removed the spacers to stop the rub till I got different sized tires. Loved the ride of the Monroes too much to loose them...
