How many were made?
#61
I bought mine in December 2003. Camouflage Metallic, RS-Zero we used to call it because back in the day we would be outnumbered by RS1's 3 to 1. Heck, I went to my first Scion meet in February 2004 and they had one of the first RS1s on display. Check out the heavy mods being done back then:

This is all very interesting info. Thanks for staying on top of it. Along with finding out the split between automatics and sticks, it'd be interesting to see which is the rarest sub-model xB.
We know that RS 1.0 Hot Lava is the lowest overall production color. And, other threads and sites report that the transmission split was 504 manual, 1596 automatic. However, a stick RS 1.0 may not be the rarest if there were fewer stick RS 2.0, RS 3.0 or RS 4.0 models made! I wonder which it is...
Disclaimer: I just picked up a stick RS 1.0 (pretty rare at 1 in 504), so I'm pulling for that model!

Well that cinches it. I'm doing a complete refurb when Keiko hits 300K later this year! The most interesting thing I find with not as many BOPs, how many gather at McDonalds at the same time where I live and work around northern Va. (At least once a week, there are at least 3 of us back to back in the drive-thru and at least 2 of us are BOP)

This may or may not be the correct page to post this question on...
I have my heart set on a first gen XB to use as a commuter vehicle/towd behind my motorhome. My Buddy, who is a 35yr. master mechanic at my local Toyota dealership is trying to convince me not to buy one because they are no longer making them. My question concerns parts availability, specifically stuff to keep them on the road in the future. Such as suspension parts (stock or performance), engine parts (same thing), etc.
Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Parts will be availble for a LONG time.
The drivetrain is the same as an echo, yaris, xA, etc.....I can still get parts for a 1968 landcruiser. You'll be just fine. Just make sure she's a maual if you're going to tow her.
