Default How to silence the beep when arming/disarming the alarm

Does anyone know how to silence the beep that the Scion Security system makes when arming/disarming the alarm (without damaging the alarm)? I just got mine installed yesterday and already that beep is getting to me.

I think it's impossible. Some you can modify, others you can't. It should be covered in either the owners manual or the info packet about the security system. Hope that helps.

you'll have to cut the wires to the piezo horn.

(Isn't it odd that no matter what one has, one wants something else... I have an xB with the Scion Security system, so mine doesn't beep - and I wish it did.)

When the alarm on the car is tripped, does the piezo horn do anything, or is it there to just beep when you arm/unarm it? I wouldn't mind the beep so much if it wasn't as loud as it is, compared to other Toyota vehicles it sounds like it is 2-3 times louder.

It doesn't do anything when the alarm is tripped, only the horn honks and the lights flash. You can try it out by hitting the panic button.

Yeah, it's loud. . . I assume because of the mounting position and the small size of the engine bay. . . it's probably more exposed in the xA than other cars. It's also higher pitched, so I assume it's a different unit? I dunno. On Lexuses, they volume can be adjusted.
