Hubcaps or steelies?

Hubcaps or steelies?
I have an 06 Shadow Mica xB.
I got it with hubs because I made a deal with myself. When I have quit smoking for a solid month, I can start looking for rims.
While I haven't smoked in the box (which is amazing considering I used to smoke 2 or 3 on my 7 mile drive to work), i've still got a ways to go.
I am already sick of the hubs, but are steelies any better?
Opinions please.

I have a shadow mica too... I told myself I wouldn't buy rims until I could pay cash... so, I painted my hubcaps. I'm not into chrome so the trim rings weren't for me. I've gotten quite a few compliments (and just as many negatives) but they're a good solution for me. And it'll only cost you 6 bucks in paint.

uhm... just to make sure we all understand and maybe clear something up that i'm confused about......
if the hubcaps aren't on... they're steelies..... you put hubcaps on steelies... yes?
so you can kinda judge yourself what you like better by just going outside and removing the hubcaps.

Which, if you're looking for those examples...

Here is the best thread out there on the subject--at least in my opinion:

I rolled steelies for like a week...couldn't stand it (4x4!!):
Winter mode with hubs (no more 4x4 too):
*oh the days of double digit mileage and not a single scratch on my baby...30k miles later I have developed a passionate hate for the Interstate and the 80 mile communte and the damage it provides my box...

Napa won't ship them to me, and the closest of their shops to me with them is a 4-hour drive.
