Default Just got rims a week ago & the lug nuts are all rusty?

I just looked today after it rained all day yesterday and the lug nuts are all rusty already. They put one big locking one and 3 smaller locking ones. The smaller ones all rusted and the bigger one is fine.

Can I take it back or is it my loss?

How much are these Gorilla or McGards ones?

I took it back tonight and he said it's going to rust because it's not steel. We asked what ones we can get that AREN'T going to rust, he said "Unless you don't drive the car, all of them will rust."

That is crap! Only the cheapest one you can possablly find would rust after one rain. Did they give them to you free? or did you pay from them. If you did get your money back!

I paid for them. He refused to do anything and he was the manager. He said it's been raining a lot so that would explain why it rusted after a week or two.

Oh, Pep boys. My friend used to work for them. He was let go becuase he would not charge people for stuff they didn't need. Very True story! But from what I hear that is common there.
Maybe some else can defend them...

The guys above have ones that don't rust. Mine have been through 2 Colorado winters and still don't have rust on them.

Hey now, he was right. You cant get any lugnuts for under 30 to 40 that wont rust.

Ive been through plenty autozone ones and they all ended up rusting. Best bet would be the gorillas or some of the expensive tuner lugs that run close to 200 bucks!

Zombie she is talking the first rain. SHe did have them on there for that long. BUt I don't know that much about lug nuts. Maybe Zombie is right.
Like I said Mine are not High end lug nuts. Two winters. That's all I have to say. Others have this to say (not about lug nuts but about pep boys in Gen):

Well the ones I got from autozone went rusty just from morning dew. The guy said there also, "every lugnut will rust."

Every inexpensive one will, thats what he should have said

. What you can do is this.

I went to wal mart and bought a spray that turns rust black. If you rather it look black instead of rusty it works great. I used it on the front steelies of my xb cause' the spindle in the middle was rusting and now they look black.

the guy said any paint/coating i put in it will prevent the key from entering properly. he suggested using wd40 every so often.

i'm thinking of just splurging for the proper lug nuts, but i'm ____ed bc I already paid $25 for these pieces of #@~$
