A 50 gallon side saddle tank would be nice.

why would you want a bigger tank...all i can think of are downsides to it except stopping at the station less
loss of horsepower to the wheels, have to upgrade suspension, lower the passenger weight rating, poorer gas milage, possibly more that i cant think of right now

what are the up sides?

I was thinking possibly 15 gallon tank..how much horsepower would you loose anyway and generally speaking there are few times when I have more than 2 or possibly three people in my car anyway.......I dont like fueling the box twice a week.....even though the mileage is great I travel 100 miles a day to work......

It has been discussed, but the major downside is that the tank size is pretty much restricted by the space in which it is mounted. The only direction that the tank can grow is downward and it hangs pretty low as it is. The fact that the tank is tied into a lot of emissions systems also makes it harder to mess with.

The 12 gallon tank was perfect for the Echo, but it's too small for the xB. I'd like to have an honest 400-500 mile range.

As someone who had a 25 gallon tank in my Datsun 510, I can say that having a 600+ mile range was very nice!

Ah, yes, the 600+ range ... but to fill a 25 gallon tank is going to chime in at just under $60 per fillup at current gas prices.

Actually, with the "zip up, crawl down" fluctuation in gas prices, you will probably come out a bit ahead by buying more fuel less often. It costs the same either way. Hauling an additional 60 pounds of gasoline around doesn't really cost that much.

You don't lose horsepower, but the extra weight will make it feel like it did. As stated before, you will get worse mileage due to the extra weight as well.

Yes, they do make a product that will give you longer range between stops at the gas station: (comes color-matched for Camo)
