Default looking to upgrade Scion xB 1st generation

How can my dad and I cheaply upgrade his Scion but do it in a way that won't fall apart

We kind of want to do things like black rims interior leds and changing the color from orange to blue

PS: He already has the sports muffler and security system.

get used wheels and tires off Craigslist, tighten all the lug nuts. Get LED's off of Ebay, follow the instructions on install.

There's not much you can do that will cause the car to "fall apart".

By upgrade, what exactly did you have in mind? Engine stuff, or just cosmetic? And pretty much everything you're gonna want to do, you can certainly do yourself.

Yes, it's best to plan out a budget and find out how much of the stuff you want to do will fit. There are many things you can do to the xB and none of them will make it fall apart if done right.

Here is a cheap mod if you are running stock wheels:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...=hub+cap+bling

You can get some colored wire loom for the wires inside your engine compartment. Just use your imagination and experiment. Good Luck!!

You can also pick up some lights from www.oznium.com

If you go to the tech section on this site there are plenty of DIY articles. https://www.scionlife.com/tech/

a cheap mod is peeling the window tape, removing the rear wiper, you can get wiper plugs from keytechniques on here that are color matched for $20, or from me at myspace.com/wipergenocide that are chrome or black for $10...the list is endless, dash trim kits, HID headlights, headlight tint, get a new grill, change your badges from xB to bB...i could go on all day like this...lol

I got a set of rims with tires for 550 on Ebay, debadged the whole exterior, put leds in cupholders, 12 bucks from autozone, painted all interior silver trim (dash, *****,window switch plates, etc.) for about 20 in paint, lowering springs for 165, shaved grill, 50, fog lights 20 at wal mart, big cosmetic changes for about $800. as said before, the list is endless, my suggestion, start with rims and a drop.

Keep an eye out on these forums. I bought a set of new 17 inch weels, tires, lug nuts, lug nut tool and hub centric rings for under $400. And yes they were black.

LEDs really dont draw much power, so you can use a 24 guage wire to wire them up. When all was said and done, i had over 60 LEDs in my car at one time. You just need your supply of LEDs ( Oznium or Ebay ) and an idea where you want to stick them. I have/had them in my door locks, door pockets, air vents, under the seats, under the radio ( single DIN ) in the rear 1/4 windows, in the gorcery hooks on the backs of the seats, in the Oh Sh*t Handles, in the rear door panels and on my fire extinguisher.

This is where im confused, the exterior color of the car, or the LEDs? LEDs arent that hard to do, as i mentioned above. If its the paint, then your in for some hard work and some quality father son time.

I'm definitely interested in changing the color of the interior LED's from that dull orange to perhaps red, especially the clock face... and the gauge face, as well.
