Lost OEM Keyless Entry and Ignition Key. Please Help.
I've searched the site but I haven't really found a straight answer to my question.
I've recently Lost my one and Only sets of keys for my 1st Gen xB. I was wondering if anyone could give me an advice on what is the best way to replace them and how much it would cost. With this economy any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a feeling that someone picked up my keys and actually know the location of my car which is parked in front of my work everyday. Should I call the dealership? I don't really want to get scammed so I'm asking you SCION NATION for some help and advice to how to fix this problem.
So far I've thought of getting a copy of the original ignition key and getting an alarm, unless someone in this forum has actually gone to a place to get the car re-keyed and re programmed.. Help Scion Nation, You guys are the only ones I trust hahahaha.

The keys for the xB Classic do NOT have any electronic protection, they are simply mechanical keys.
Your dealership should be able to start from your VIN and get the "code" to cut you a new key identical to the original. Replacement remotes are readily available via eBay at reasonable cost.
As to the problem of someone having specifically stolen the key and remote, and knowing where the car is, that's a more difficult and more expensive problem to work around.
Getting all three locks changed can be rather expensive.
As to "blocking" the original remote from unlocking the doors, I don't know.
Hopefully there will be some other folks here with some good answers.
Good luck!
