Default Lund X terminator for xB

No pic yet, but I installed mine yesterday. 15 minutes, using the existing holes in the xB hood. Seems stable and not noisy up to 75 mph, the limit of my test. Got it from autoparts warehouse, think price was 52.47 with free shipping. Arrived in less than a week.

It only protudes a little bit above the hood. Since my xB is blue, almost invisible from the front.

best regards, A

OK, but how is this supposed to help? Here in FL we fight bugs all the time and I tend to get them mostly on the windshield, but the whole grill and air dam as well. Does this thing "lift" the airflow higher and help carry the bugs over the top???

Yes. Bug shields are supposed to changed the airflow characteristics and cause the bugs to go over your windshield. It is not 100% effective so if you are looking for a cure-all, forget it! Much depends on the speed you drive and the size of the bugs.

The only way to keep bugs off the bumper and out of the grill is with a bra - or get really good at driving backwards.

Love the orange scion with the shield! Now, I put mine on after experiencing the first stone chip on the hood. Any diminishing of bug goo will be strictly a bonus. Has the shield stayed tightly fastened over time?

LOL!! That is quite possibly the only way to make an xB even less aerodynamic.

Do you know if it's possible to paint the bug shield? Some plastics are really pain to prep the surface to paint it... and ends up costing a lot.

Also, do these bug shield repel road debris as well? I can't find reviews of this thing everywhere.

I already am going through third front wind shield due to cracks caused by road debris...

You could get a clear one and paint the backside of it, that way the paint won't get "sandblasted" off.

I know, right? I actually had one on a truck I used to have, and it didn't do squat. The thing totally didn't deflect the couple of birds and that deer I hit one summer.

I had one on my work van. All it did was rub thru the paint underneath.
