Default is a Moonroof a real xB option?

I asked the dealer if they make the Scion with a moonroof, he said that all the cars are made without any options from the factory and all options are dealer installed and he proceeded to hand me a brochure with like 40 options that are available and they are all done at the delaership and he told me they can put in a nice moonroof that does more then the normal ones, I asked what more can you ask a moonroof to do, he was telling me memory positions, etc, and I dont see anything about this being an option. He said its all covered under the warranty also. Is this guys lying to me, anyone else have a moonroof installed by the dealer, where is the switch located to control it, Does the installation look clean? Im worried to have something that may leak someday.

Correct, they are not factory options from Scion, but aftermarket options that the dealer can provide. They will normally be covered under the warranty or I should say the sunroof, etc will come with a warranty, etc.

Mine has 2 memory options to open half way, full or like 1/3, and then the forward tilt.

Check out this thread I have a few pics there and so do others.

The only option from the factory is the transmission and the RS packages. As such, a moonroof could well be a dealer option like all the options on the scion website.

i dont think that a moonroof/sunroof is an option through scion. otherwise it would have a toyota part number.

from what i have heard, it is a dealer-specific option, where they get a local shop to install it.

All the dealer does is outshop it to a trim shop and ad $300 - $500 to the actual cost.
You can have it done yourself and save some change in the process.
The trim shop will warranty their work.
If you go through the dealer and there's a warranty issue, all they do is carry it back to the trim shop.
