Default My New Scion XB T-shirt Design! :)

I was bored this morning so I decided to design and print myself a I <3 XB shirt to show my newly found pride. lol

I always feel bad because I know nothing about cars and pretty much have very little to contribute to this community. You guys really help me out when it comes to doing custom work on my cars so I thought I'd post about something I know a lot about: Screen Printing!

I know a lot of us are young and looking to make extra cash to buy mods and I just wanted to share how I make my money. I started off using a $50 Screen Printing kit so it's not really expensive to do. If you have someone to guide you through the process it becomes pretty simple.

Now I have thousands of dollars worth of machines in the garage and it's a job that I love. If you've got designs in your head, a little ambition, and are sick of flipping burgers you can start your own business.

So if any of you guys are thinking about working for yourself printing shirts hit me up and I can help you out with any advice you need. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about making shirts or running your own company.

Kind of my way of giving back to this community, lol.

Good luck and happy modifying!

I don't see it on his site, yet (http://www.poisonappleshirts.com/), but I don't think it would take TOO much convincing for it to show up there.

Nice work. I always wanted to get started printing shirts...

How do you get the design cut out onto the stencil?

Yeah, I won't sell them on my site and just keep them special for the ScionLife community.

I wore it while I ran errands today and found out women dig guys who drive boxes

It's actually a chemical process similar to developing photographs. You don't cut the stencil out but you wash it out with water.

You use UV lights to burn an image on a photosensitive screen and then parts of it come out soft and can be washed out with water leaving a stencil.

It's really cool because you can have a ton of detail.

If you need any help let me know. You can get a kit called a "Speedball Screen Printing Kit" for around $30-$50 that can do exactly what my $5,000 machine does except it takes longer. It's a good place to start

When I started selling shirts I decided not to carry the 2x because the shirts cost more money and my profits were slim. They're also harder to center and have little margin for error.

You guys rock so I'll special order them for you guys today and have 2x and 3x in by tomorrow.

I updated my link to carry them.

That's awesome! Are there giant robots that do the printing or is it still old school with a screen and squeegee? Is it all screen printing or have you guys also use belt printer machines?

What kind of art do you do? Too many questions already, hah. Have a good one!

we have 6 automated pressed. no belt presses. we can print up to 8 colors on a shirt. I do some design work but mostly my job is to separate the colors in the art (technical artists) for each screen and print it out on to Thermo-impression film. but since im the only artist at the planet I tend to get lots of extra jobs on top of that.

lol. I'll have some shipped to me tomorrow morning. The 2x are still fairly slim cut and since they use a super soft combed cotton they do shrink a bit in the wash. I'll pick up some 3xs just in case.

My doctor actually put me on the protein diet a couple years ago and I lost 50 pounds. No sugar and no carbs. Drove me insane. That kind of diet does something to your brain that makes you angry all the time, lol. You're basically putting your body in starvation mode but getting to eat as much meat as you want. Steak and burgers every night. It works though
