Default My xB with side molding and trailer hitch

My xB is a daily driver, and sees a lot of unfriendly neighbors in the parking lot.
I needed side molding, but I didn't like the look of the painted "OEM look" molding.
Also it was expensive. Over $100.
Here is my solution. "Style Guard" 1" Body Molding. I got a roll of it at Pep Boys for $14. It's been on the car for over a year and still holding strong.

I also tow a trailer from time to time. The hitch is an Invisi-Hitch.
Despite what the owners manual says, I've had no problems towing the trailer shown, and various cargo. When towing, the xB performs about the same as my old 1991 Geo Prizm did.

Hmmm, I'm not feeling that door molding. Maybe if it was body-colored, then it'll be OK.
I like that trailer hitch though...

I am SO digging the molding. Maybe it's because I, too, am rocking the trim rings (GO TEAM STEELIE!!), but this is the best-looking PW I've seen.

I think it's a great contrast - the tint, steelies, and molding just look great against your PW paint. As Paris would say, THAT'S HOT.

It might come in handy for another reason, though - I hereby dub your body-molding "First-Gen Side Airbags."

Anyway, not to be COMPLETELY contrary to the first reply, but that hitch just seems like a baaaad idea. I mean, you do realize the trailer is nearly as long as the car, right? I'm can't imagine Mr. Transmission is too happy about the added load.

Car looks good. I have the same hitch on my 1st gen. I use it to pul my Kodiak 4 wheeler. Car has no trouble pulling it, granted I have added a lot of other parts to it, like the Greddy S/C, and a TRD clutch.

Not a fan of the molding, but i suppose it looks better than a bunch of door dings. I want to add a hitch, but i hear it won't fit with an aftermarket exhaust, are you still running stock?

The trailer hitch is a great idea. Highly effective against people that park by sound. I've already got the front bumper defended with a fat license plate cover.

The Invisihitch clear aftermarket exhausts. I'm running the Greddy Evo 2 exhaust with mine and clears great.

Nice hitch for sure. But gotta agree on the not feeling the black molding. Def. pick up some in the paintable kind and white it out.

BC or CREX, any chance one of you could give us some shots of underneath the rear bumper so I can get a better idea of how that invisi-hitch mounts?

I'm very interested in getting one, but would like to be sure it will clear my Strup exhaust.

Molding looks great. The black/white contrast is great, and it will keep you more visible in a white-out. Great job, and protects at the same time.

pulling a small trailer with a jet ski or 4-wheeler is no different than having a couple of people in the back seat

of course something with a tongue weight of 800lbs wouldnt be such a great idea...but most cars can easily pull a light trailer with no ill effects assuming the hitch is proper

Agreed.

The Europeans have been towing with engines as small and smaller than 1.5, for years. Not many can afford a f150 over there.

I just wish I knew of that Invi____ch Before I bought my Curt Hitch. That darn thing is always scraping the ground with all the big hills around here.
