Default New... thinking of buying the xB

So shoot me if I repeat anything everyone is tired of answering....

First what is this "pure pricing"? Does it mean no haggling?

Second, what options would be best. I'm serioulsy considering the tie bar... anything else folks think is cool/important?

What else should I know?

How can I con... er... convince the dealer to give me some sweet freebies? LOL

lol.. just kidding...
Pure pricing... with the exception of taxes, dealercharge and licensing.... you can build a xB(or other model) on the scion page, print it out...and bring it to the dealer of your choice...and thats what you'll pay.. i believe the site estimates local taxes for the zip code you enter in..but each city is a bit different so.. go figure...

as for options.... in my opinion... Clear 3m bra to protect agaisnt chips... strut tower bar.... cruise controll (if you plan on driving anywhere far way its a must) and the arm rest...lol..

those options you can get aftermarket (not thru dealer) most likely for cheaper....but unless you have cash/credit ready to do it... buying at same time and having it financed may be easier for you....
if you want to pick and chose order
1) clear bra...highly recomended at purchace time/financed or very soon after purchase thru aftermarket
2) cruise controll... after 1 long trip w/o it you'll regret not getting that option... maybe something you want dealer to do to keep warrenty
3) strut bar... can be picked up after market for cheap and installed by just about any1 here on board in about 15min or less... or you can have dealer do it...

**those are my opinions on "must have" options for the car**
as for other stuff... can get them way cheaper aftermarket or DIY

freebies.... good luck...varries by dealer... may get a key chain... may get a thank you letter...lol

i don't recommend a clear bra because overtime it will shrink and do something else to the paint. Even though it sounds like a good thing to have, I even thought about it. My bro works at a body shop and has seen some of the clear bra stuff where it has shrunk and what not.

The only thing I got aftermarket or added to my car through scion was the rear spoiler. You can find everything else for a 1/3 of the cost most likely.

Heh, my old room mate drove from LA to San Jose CA and back in his jetta w/o cruise control.

I'm also considering buying an xB, although I've been looking at them for a while and am very close to making a purchase. As for mods, I would recommend only aftermarket stuff as the dealer makes much of their $ on "customizations" you add as options. Although do some research and see what would be the best solution for what you want to get.

or find a demo like me, that way you get a practically brand new car with mods already done to it and you still come out ahead of the game.

Have you started looking yet?

It took me 3 shopping trips and 17 delaers just to find the color/tranny we wanted.

Some already had options on them, so your choices may be somewhat driven by what is out there.
