Default NooB Question about mixed Badging

Hey everyone,

I just got my blue onyx xB two weeks ago. I did a search for this but didn't find it discussed anywhere.. I would like to get some opinions.

I really want to order the JDM bB Rear Bumper Chrome Step Guard. (I am using my box for tailgating and don't want the bumper getting all jacked when someone drops a beer can on it!) This part looks like the best protection for the bumper I have been able to find. My only hesitation is that it has the bB badge on it. How lame is it considered to mix badging? I think the mixed badging would bug me but I really don't want to rebadge the rest of the box.. or maybe I could rebadge the step guard with a xB badge? Thoughts? Suggestions?

-Bill

There's a cargo cover for the rear area that has a fold-down flap that covers the bumper when you open the hatch, you just flip the flap down.. I can't find a pic right now. It might suit your needs better. personally, if i bought that chrome cover, I would worry some ba$tard would bounce his beer bottle off that...

True. True. Expecially when the Raider Nation invades the Q like they are going to this Halloween.

GO BOLTS! ;)

Thanks for the info about the cargo cover. I will look for that.

Default JDM bB "chrome" bumper guard

I've had one of these for some time now & I can tell you that it is a decorative piece only.

First, its polished aluminum, so it's soft & really easy to bend during installation. You have to make sure not to use anything abrasive on it or you are screwed. And do not drop that beer can on it or or step on it or, once again, you are screwed.

Also, you can peel of th Bb emblem & send it to me if it bother you.

Last, this is really a good looking piece once installed, it's just a little fragile & will need to be looked after. It's just not much of a guard.

My link below has a lot of pics of that bumper guard with the bb removed. It was not easy, but I didn't heat it up either.

It is a very weak guard. I have two small "Hail Dents" in it from god knows what. The underside has 3 rails of 3m tape on it and the rest is left unsupported.

You bumper is soooo weak, adding this does not make much tougher. You still have to baby it. 'NOT A STEP' would be a good sticker to throw on there. It is also a pain in the a$$ to keep clean. All the water spots from water running down inside your hatch just rests there everyime it rains. I havn't got a chrome polish to work yet.

I like it, but rest assured it is hella weak and lots more work. If you do end up choosing it for style, call Collin at Carson Toyo (www.newscionparts.com) 800-549-2929-fast and reliable. Tell him ScionLife sent ya!

I would get the standard scion bumper guard- I love mine-If someone drops a full can of beer on your bumper- its going to leave a noticable mark on the protector too!

Cargo Liner anyone, anyone? Doesnt protect the entire bumper. It will minimize scratches.
