Default Off-center steering wheel?

When I spin the steering wheel and sight over its rim to the dashboard, I can see the rim go up and down as it turns, as if either the wheel isn't perfectly round or it's not perfectly centered.

There are no steering problems or anything. So I'm just wondering.

Common? Weird? Easily explained?

i think its common, but it could be due to warpage or other sort like hitting it. Wheels are meant to bend in crashes so they are not really that sturdy than you think. but hey you knew that, it is common happends to one car or another.

I have not spun mine, but it's bound to be normal. Either it's not perfectly round or not perfectly concentric about the center of the steering column - by ergonometric design.

I have also noticed that my xB steering wheel is not directly in front of where the seat back holds me, but is about an inch to the left.
