I'm not sure where you can get the wheels you are looking for but you might think about going with salt flat discs.

Also, here is a pic of my Rat Fink, pinstriped on:

I have seen those salt flats that you speak of and
don't really care for them to much.

Just throwing it out there.

How about some curb feelers? I have some original in the box from the 50's.........lol.

I think you pretty much have the exterior covered. On the interior you could do tuck and roll seats and fuzzy dash.

The littls 50's side mirrors would be pimp. I had those on my '56 Pontiac.

I think I am leaning more to the "Rat Rod" meets hot rod meets import style and not so much as ol skool, if that sounds right.

definately post pics when you go flat black. i almost sanded mine down and sprayed mine primer black with spraypaint yesterday at work but i found out i didn't have enough cans.
=( but flat black rules!!!
