stankubrick : a rat rod is typically flat black with satin accents. Kinda for an unfinished look.

Well heres the one I was mentioning:

This mini truck has no windows or window slots, no cover no top no nothing but bed and cab!! He said he actually shifts with his hand on top of the shift! I just dont get it! lol

Sorry about the size of the pic but when I made it smaller it was hard to see the shifter.

I actually going to do this, but at the last minute moved into a different direction. Anyhow, I think the xB can look good in all sorts of styles if done cleanly...
How much you asking for the top rims..

It is not that hard for me to shift, If I failed to mention I have an Automatic trans.
If I had a sunroof, I would make a super tall one for car shows, and stuff that came out of the roof. My new one is about as tall as I can go right now, it is about 8 or 9 inches taller that the one in the pic.

I think the whole rat-rod thing is a damn good idea, it would def be original...

The one thing I would suggest however, is to do the black in a Satin color, not flat. and to do the ACCENTS in the flat color or in a satin as well...gives it that "I'm finished, but almost looks like I'm not...but it looks like I am at the same time" lol, I'm all cooky today...

Heres a couple pics of my buddies 67 Chevy (lays frame and blows flames) He is a part of Severed Ties...dont know if u have heard of them...pretty exclusive truck club. But anywho - just figured it would give u an idea or two...oh...and as far as the wheels go...look for maybe some 4-lug VW wheels from like 68-79 same 4-100 bolt pattern, and I think they would look good painted red, with some moons and beauty rings...

Just my 2 cents!

{Will....ok now that I know its an auto, seems a heck of a lot more easier to use. }

Ah, OK, I see what rat rod is now. I like the idea of satin black, it'd be cool to see someone actually do this. Maybe even a chop top!

Not really rat rod, but is this satin black? This skyline looks so cool with the paint and chrome...

If youre going old school dont rice it out with flames and stripes. Look into getting a set of WORK wheels from Japan (Look on Ebay - They usually have em for the AE86 - 86 Toyota Corolla) Just make sure you get the right off-set for a front wheel drive car - some 15" wheels popping out with fender flares - all flat black - thats gangsta old school
