My first post here. I also been reading alot of back pages too.
I ordered it last sat, its a 06 camo xB.
I asked for the tinted windows option for $149 is this an extra film installed at port or is it dealer done and what % total with it. I would like to get the two fronts done but they don't intall the fronts at the port.
Also does anyone have a camo with the RH Evolution wheels with Graphite. decideding on some rims with this color. or maybe the TRD 18" 5 spoke sports rims. any pics of camo would help me out or ideas would be great.

 

What are they tinting? The rear windows? They're already tinted unless they're tinting them darker.

 

the rears, he told me that they would be smoked color. So i guess i need the fronts smoked also to match.

 

Hmmm, I don't think you need the back tinted. Unless that has changed for 2006 where they are making the rear windows clear. Mine are smoked, at least that's how I would describe it.

 

The rear windows come tinted from the factory, and I can't imagine you would want them darker than that.
I would take it to a tint shop and have them match the others.

I had mine done for around $100 and they look great.

 

I had mine done at a local autotrim design shop and also the windshield for about 75 bucks and it matches the factory tint nicely....... if you like you may see my car if you look around in here or i can send you a pic .....Congrats on the ordier of the new xB !!

Black rims also look nice on camo

 

Roger your tint look like they match the rear, they look great, so the rear is factory tint? So basically i'm gettin more tint in the back. Your black rims look great with TCM very nice. I need scroll around to find a camo with graphite rims.

 

I had mine tinted 20% on the front doors and a strip on the front glass and it matches the factory tint.

 

Im pretty sure the only thing they do at the port is unload cars and put them onto trucks. Your just asking to be pulled over by tinting the front windows. In DE your third offence is a mandatory court appearance. I have to agree it looks good, but its not worth the trouble.

 

At my dealership we charge $150 to have the front two windows tint matched to the rear. I would call your dealer back and ask specifically what they are tinting. I dont know of any ports that will install more tint on the back windows. Good luck...

 

Port does install some things ie:spoilers,cruise ect. but not tint. The dealer prolly charged you for it in advance and will send it out after it arrives at the stealership. If you stick with 35% it will match nicely with the factory stuff.
For wheels, goggle what you want. There is alot of stuff and places out there. Shop around and don't let the dealer talk you into wheels. Their markup is outta this world.

I drive a truck. I go to the port of Wilmington. Theres no one moding scions. Just alot of cars and containers.

1.get a "tint waiver/ medical form" from the DMV
2.get your eye doctor to sign it
3.run thru the inspection lane and get it signed by them
4.run inside the dmv and they will photocopy it for their records
5.keep your copy in the car at all times

cops cant bother ya with one of those bad boys. sure you might get pulled over, but just pull out the form and boast a nice smile!!!

 

I emailed him, he said the two front windows to match the rest of the windows at 35%

 

Exactly right. 35% on mine matches and no one can tell it didn't come that way from the factory.

 

ok so this is new to me, and I'm waiting on my xB..two weeks so far, they told me Nov 14th my TCM should be here...The rear of the car is already tinted at no extra cost to me? and the dealer tinting option is for the front two windows?

 

dmxsoulja i would call your dealer to find out, that what i did. At first i thought it was just the back glass but he corrected me two fronts instead to match the already tinted glass. Now some dealers maybe different, do call.
