Default paint codes?

So as some of you know I am having issues with them not being able to match my paint on the rear bumper of my car... I have an 06.5 TCM and I was wondering if anyone knew of or if there was even anything out there that would tell you the proper paint code based on the vin #? I have heard there are different factories that the bumpers and spoilers get painted at and their paint codes are different to compensate for humidity, heat, ect... so this makes it real confusing for me, and apparently the body shop, when it comes to effectively paint my bumper... Lemme know guys if you know of anything that can help... my car goes back in this week :0/

Go to the bottom right of this page for all the paint codes:

https://www.scionlife.com/scion/xb/

I believe the code for your particular color is also on the metal badge located in the door sill area

you are correct...it will say 1D2 on that plate....

also when the bodyshop pulls up the code which shows the mixing instructions there will be a variance of colors to mix to get the TCM as with mixing almost all paint...there will be like different shades of silver that can be mixed but they only pick one of the shades...thats why unless you have someone that really really knows what they are doing, a newly painted piece will sometimes be about one shade off, i have seen cases of 3 and more shades off (that looks like crap)...but i hope it comes out good for you in the end.

I know some of the scion colors have no variance. I know for a fact there is no variance on Envy Green.

you are correct...i believe all the release series wont have really a variance (rs4 might)...but i believe TCM, BCP, PW, and some of the others will have the variance...i could be wrong but i believe i am right about that :-)
