Park on hill switching gears -weird jerk?
Is it normal when you park your xb on a hill with the front facing up hill and when you're ready to drive, you shift from P to R then D...there is a jerk or something?

When you stop, keep your foot on the brake, then pull up the handbrake...then, when you re-start, put your foot on the brake, hold it there, release the Handbrake, still keeping your foot on the brake, select drive...there should be no lurch...

Park is not a brake, but a pawl that essentially jams the transmission. Putting the transmission in Park on a hill allows the car to roll a couple of inches until the pawl is jammed in the transmisison. When the car is started, it is then hard to withdraw the pawl against the weight of the car. This habit causes strain on the transmission and shift linkage.
